Cringe Culture is Dead, Long Live the Cringe

So here’s the deal. Everyone wants to be perceived as cool. We can all pretend we’re above it but at some level we don’t want some people to know some things. If people somehow found out you were into that thing, ya THAT one, what would happen? Your whole facade of normalcy or even badassery might disappear. Maybe they would stop talking to you. Maybe they would hate you.

No. That’s dumb. Stop being dumb. Nobody cares. And if they do care, they can fuck off. Their opinions don’t matter. I know this. You know this. So why does it still feel weird to discuss certain hobbies, shows, and even music?

Wednesday Action Log 01-07-26

This week is more Baldur’s Gate 3.

We’ve just finished act 2, and are plaining to get into act 3 tomorrow. Act 2 went pretty well, I had unintentionally spec’d Shadowheart into radiant damage, which ended up working very well for all of act 2, due to the fact that half of the enemies are undead. so far I think we’ve amassed around 30k gold, and possibly another 10k in stuff I haven’t sold yet

I don’t know why, but I’ve also been playing a little bit of Bejeweled 2 as a time killer.

How’s everyone else this week?

2nd Round

Update, concerning the major topic of comments: We’ve done this before; see the discussion of the first season of the Fallout TV series HERE.

Originally Scheduled Post:

Last week I was finally getting over the sinus infection. Allergy problems caused another bad day, but I was finally truly getting better.

Then I got a cold. Not a little sniffly one, either; one of the bad ones. Although, a few days ago I felt it start like a switch was flipped, and last night I suddenly felt the switch flip again and I started feeling better. Unfortunately I’m  draining so bad I can’t stop blowing my nose or sneezing. Either of which is making a horrible mess.

This has certainly been the season for it.

Planning on watching Fallout Season 2 pretty soon. I’ve only seen one reaction pop up on YouTube (I didn’t watch it), but the creator was someone I don’t generally follow because they advocate New Vegas as the *only* really good Fallout, followed by 1 and 2 and generally disregarding everything (else) produced by Bethesda as Bethesda “doesn’t get* Fallout. An opinion I don’t agree with, I’ve shared before.

Hope everyone has a good week. I’ll be taking my parents to doctors’ appointments this week as long as I really am getting over this cold.

The Wilhelm Scream Should Go Away

The Wilhelm scream is a staple in media and has been for over 60 years. Everybody reading this likely knows exactly what I’m talking about, but if you don’t, go ahead and look it up on YouTube. There will be plenty of videos to refresh your memory. It’s a classic. It’s a constant. I hate it.

Wednesday Action Log 12-31-25

This week was the same as last week.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is going well, just got into act 2 after doing pretty much everything worth doing, and with only a few deaths. My horde of enchanted items is ever growing, and the quantity of potions, arrows, and scrolls that I never use is immense. I should probably sell some of that stuff, but every time I think about it, I’m also thinking ‘but what if I need it’.

Megabonk is also going well. I’ve unlocked most of the characters and all of the weapons, but there’s still more stuff to unlock, so the game will still be a good time killer for me.

How’s everyone else this week? (also Happy new year)

Horror Slasher Evolution: Halloween Ends

By Paige Francis Posted Monday Dec 29, 2025

Well, let’s get this over with. And Happy New Year for those following the Gregorian Calendar. The final two movies of the original Halloween timeline are best tackled all at once, even though from some points-of-view the second movie of this trilogy, V: The Revenge of Michael Myers, is more closely related to part IV. The third second-trilogy movie, Halloween VI: The Curse of Michael Myers; kills off the main character at the beginning and retcons the series, setting up another new concept. However, the retcon (and movie, really) was so bad it seemingly killed off the franchise. Except it didn’t. In fact, there are only three years separating part VI from Halloween: H20, whereas VI was released SIX YEARS after Part V. I distinctly remember a short period of time in the early 1990’s when something along the lines of Halloween: H20 was believed to be the next Halloween movie after V. A “reset” film that followed from the first Halloween rather than continuing the Jamie Lloyd story. There’s a lot more to all of this behind the scenes rather than on the screen, so let’s learn a bit.

Wednesday Action Log 12-24-25

This week Baldur’s Gate 3 has continued.

So far we’ve gotten to the Underdark, and I’ve gotten quite a bit of gold, but my video game hoarding problem is showing. I’ve barely spent any of the gold, and I’ve kept almost every enchanted item I’ve seen, and it’s becoming a problem. So far my only nitpick with the game is that vases and jugs almost never have anything in them. It’s not going to stop me from trying to loot them, but I want more rewards for my unnecessary thoroughness.

I’ve also started playing Megabonk. I don’t have much to say about it. It’s 3D Vampire Survivors.

What’s everyone else doing? (Also Merry Christmas)
