Ah! How did I miss this yesterday? September 19 is was Talk Like a Pirate Day. Everyone Else posted pirate-y talk to their blogotrons, except for me. Let me now make amends. Time for some some fiercesome pirate lingo!
Bob: Hey Norman, can I borrow your copy of BioShock?
Norman: Sure.
The Biggest Game Ever

How did this niche racing game make a gameworld so massive, and why is that a big deal?
Crysis 2

Crysis 2 has basically the same plot as Half-Life 2. So why is one a classic and the other simply obnoxious and tiresome?
Deus Ex and The Treachery of Labels

Deus Ex Mankind Divided was a clumsy, tone-deaf allegory that thought it was clever, and it managed to annoy people of all political stripes.
Revisiting a Dead Engine

I wanted to take the file format of a late 90s shooter and read it in modern-day Unity. This is the result.
Denuvo and the "Death" of Piracy

Denuvo videogame DRM didn't actually kill piracy, but it did stop it for several months. Here's what we learned from that.
A few years ago I dressed up a pirate for halloween. I had an eye patch, a hook, a bandana, and a Limewire t-shirt. True story.
Dude, after what you’ve said about BioShock, I wouldn’t touch it with Jack Thompson’s computer.
Wow. That was brilliant.
Wow, you’re attempt at twisting every post into Bioshock criticism is going quite well.
Went on a cruise with Mrs Browncoat in March. Boat stopped at Grand Caveman Island (which has a pirate festival every November for a week). We went on a Pirate Adventure. What fun!
I won’t bore you with all of the details now, many of which were a you-had-to-be-there thing, but Shamus’ comments reminded me that after the show, the pirate ship we were on dropped anchor and we were allowed to go swimming. They were playing music on the stereo to get the whole party atmosphere going, and I said to one of the pirates that the music didn’t sound very piratey.* He looked at me and asked if it counts that the CD was pirated. I laughed. Again.
* if you haven’t heard the TLAPD Anthem (http://tomsmithonline.com/freestuff.htm) or the Last Saskatchewan Pirate (http://www.relaxism.com/artofrx.html).
“Bob: Hey Norman, can I borrow your copy of BioShock?
Norman: Sure.”
Mmm, now that’s good satire
I always talk like a pirate when I pirate something. “Arr! I be downloadin’!” Also I wear an eyepatch.
I’m seriously liking this “relate everything to BioShock” trend. : )
I talk like a pirate every day.
Hahah! My god, I feel so retarded now, it took me like 30 seconds before I got the joke. That was damn funny!
Shamus you can still be redeemed; 5th of December is the International Day of the Ninja (or Stalk like a Ninja Day), so be sure not to miss it!
Well, in a feeble attempt to connect to the overt theme of the post, I’d like to share a link which I pirated from Aaron Williams’ blog. To be truly pertinent, I am recommending that you watch the Bioshock review, but don’t miss out on the others. I was in stitches. The videos are NSFW primarily due to language. Visually they’re a little edgy for work, but probably ok. Just make sure you have headphones on.

Yeah, I didn’t get the joke at first either. I had to follow the link to the other post before I got hit in the head with it. “Sharing is Piracy” Okay, I see what you did there.
Brilliant, me hearty. Here be my contribution to that holiday:

Arrrr!
We had the same take on the day. That’s just awesome.
Satire lives!
