A year ago I had just finished the first complete draft of a book of vampire smut I was intending to publish, and was just entering the publishing stage of a book of poetry that was five years in the making.
I hadn’t seen my dad for a month when I’d gotten the call he was going to the hospital, of his own volition. I’m getting a EKG and heart monitor put on for my usual writing day this week. Nothing too serious, but it’s out of the way and I won’t be home till late.
I’m currently binge-playing Tears of the Kingdom, maybe even have some words about it to write eventually here? There’s a particular series of quests driving me nuts, that feels article worthy. Bad quests feel way, way worse when the rest of the game is a masterpiece.

Lorretta has left Kelly and Michael the house in her will, as well as half of what she had saved. Kelly’s older sister got the other half, and Lorretta’s car.
At first, who got what doesn’t seem to matter that much, in the midst of grief and funeral arrangements. Kelly and Michael aren’t celebrating getting the house, they knew that was Lorretta’s plan and it makes plenty of sense to them; they’ve been living in it for the last seven years.
Kelly’s sister, Jen, though? She doesn’t feel like it’s so fair.

There's a wonderful way to balance difficulty in RPGs, and designers try to prevent it. For some reason.
What is a skinner box, how does it interact with neurotransmitters, and what does it have to do with shooting people in the face for rare loot?
An attempt to make a good looking cityscape with nothing but simple tricks and a few rectangles of light.
Did you anticipate the big plot twist of Batman: Arkham City? Here's all the ways the game hid that secret from you while also rubbing your nose in it.
I'm not surprised a fighting game has an absurd story. I just can't figure out why they bothered with the story at all.
Be careful what you learn with your muscle-memory, because it will be very hard to un-learn it.
No, self-aware robots aren't going to turn on us, Skynet-style. Not unless we designed them to.
A screencap comic that poked fun at videogames and the industry. The comic has ended, but there's plenty of archives for you to binge on.
Do you like electronic music? Do you like free stuff? Are you okay with amateur music from someone who's learning? Yes? Because that's what this is.
A programming project where I set out to make a gigantic and complex world from simple data.
