The rulebooks explain that undead have very low charisma scores, but they offer nothing in the way of explanation as to why the other people at the table are so lacking in it.

    I’m surprised Gimli’s player didn’t pick up on how “all our stuff” was left suspiciously undefined. Or maybe he did, and he’s roleplaying Gimli not bringing it up due to being Lawful Good.
