In my country, Father’s day is the second Sunday in August. But happy Father’s day to all the daddies who are commemorating it today!
Huh, ours is the first Sunday in September.
It’s strange how Father’s Day is so disparate (anywhere from March in Portugal to December in Thailand) but Mother’s Day is fairly uniform (mostly 1st/2nd Sunday of May, only UK is in March).
Over here we have a “family day” somewhere in January/February (depends on the Hebrew calendar). It used to be a “mother’s day” but us fathers felt neglected, so about 20 years ago it was changed to “family day” to please everyone (except the mothers).

In Germany, we celebrate Father’s Day on the same date as Ascension Day, so it’s also a public holiday ;).(Reason enough for parts of the male population to go out and get hammered :D)
Heh, I saw a t-shirt today with Vader on it and the message “I am your father”.
That’s right. Darth Vader wants you to turn to the Dark Side. And the Dark Side is run by Hallmark Greeting Cards! Do not underestimate the power of poor greeting card poetry.
Bah, I’m a bit of a humbug with the whole mother’s / father’s day thing. I don’t even do much for Valentine’s day either. I prefer to show my love and gratitude throughout the year on days of my own choosing, and without cards.
But that picture is pretty cool. I think my dad will be getting an email with that in it this year…

Oh, so that´s why he cut Luke´s hand, he wanted a gift from his son!
I can’t think of a more touching gesture than a son having his hand cut off to replace the one his father lost years ago.
