DM of the Rings Remasted CXXI: Blasphemy!

Everyone has different standards for verisimilitude. I’m often amused by the anecdotes from other players who inhabit crazy gameworlds that are bursting at the seams with preposterous creatures. They think nothing of doing a dungeon where an Ogre will inhabit an unadorned room next to a Black Pudding, who both live next door to a Dire Bear and an Earth Elemental. Stories like this make me laugh because I can’t help but picture what life must be like for these monsters in the dungeon as they sit around waiting for adventurers to show up. Talk about “The Odd Couple”. Actually, that’s a pretty cool idea for a comic: A sitcom-styled story about a bunch of freakish monsters who inhabit a trap-and-treasure laden dungeon, learning to love and laugh… together.

It feels a bit grim but i’ll admit it’s a bit funny the three year anniversary of dads death fell on fathers day this year. Sad funny, but still funny.

I miss you, old man. Happy fathers day.

I feel like this concept must have been done at least two or three times by now. “Look how ridiculous D&D is” was a pretty popular internet genre for a while.

It has been done, though I forgot the web comic’s name (again). The main characters were the kids, one of them was a beholder even! And I think a goblin girl…

      OK, found it:
      yet another fantasy gamer comic
      http://www.yafgc.net

The comic starts with the beholder having a crush on the goblin girl.

We STILL miss Shamus Young, especially 3 years after he died. He was a great man whose creations inspired many people, including my fellow internet friend, Nathanael “Nat23” Cameron, whose was inspired by Shamus’ Wavatars WordPress plugin to create a web series based off them, called Wavatar Land. The series has been on hiatus since July 18, 2022, but hopefully its 25th and final episode should be out soon. BTW, as a consequence of Shamus passing away, Nat23 is planning to end Wavatar Land after the 25th episode releases, since Nat23 doesn’t want to accidentally disrespect Shamus’ death by continuing the series. That’s all I have to say, and thank you for taking your time to read this. Shamus will always be remembered and will continue to be missed by those who knew him; by his family, and by his friends, real life and internet alike. We ALL miss him dearly.

RIP your dad, I really enjoyed in particular the DnD let’s play he DM’d chronicled back in the mid 2000s, and his procgen city project.
