Fear the Boot, the tabletop RPG podcast, has been nominated at the Gen Con EN World RPG Awards. If you remember, these are the guys who interviewed me back in May. I’ve since become friends with the hosts and I really enjoy the show, so I’m really cheering for them. If you’re so inclined, please stop on over and give them a vote. If you’ve never heard the show before, now would be a good time to check it out.
Could Have Been Great
Here are four games that could have been much better with just a little more work.
In Defense of Crunch
Crunch-mode game development isn't good, but sometimes it happens for good reasons.
Dead Island
A stream-of-gameplay review of Dead Island. This game is a cavalcade of bugs and bad design choices.
Video Compression Gone Wrong
How does image compression work, and why does it create those ugly spots all over some videos and not others?
Project Octant
A programming project where I set out to make a Minecraft-style world so I can experiment with Octree data.

Not the first post!
I’m confused.. I’m not sure what to do.. I’ve never been this high up in the comments.. I know I should say something.. I guess I’m finally gonna listen to this boot deal you’re always ravin’ ’bout. .. an hour long.. ok.. here goes.
I wish I could make it out to GenCon and meet the guys. Theirs is pretty much my favorite podcast out there.
Well I am a fan of FTB but they got taken down from competition for the award a bit of bruhaha over some jesting comments on their podcast.
