I’m guilty of hypocrisy and what I consider a grave crime. I buy the newest EA sportsball game or MLB: The Show. As I hit that “Confirm Purchase” button I have a wave of regret and shame every time. I’m an informed consumer of an industry that I genuinely care about immensely, but I still keep doing it because I dearly love the sports being “simulated” and want to be able to participate. Even if only digitally.

Everyone has that one game. It doesn’t always make sense why it reaches into your brain and pokes the dopamine button so easily. It just does.
Mine is ‘Last of Us’. Though the reason why isn’t hard to figure out. Continue reading ⟩⟩ “We’re probably going to disagree…”
This week I only had time to play The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth.
I keep going back and forth on whether I’m having making progress or just playing to no avail. I’m probably making progress all the time, but it’s hard to tell because of how vague the game is with unlocks and progress.
That’s about all I did this week, but what about everyone else?
WitcherIII has been remastered, which isn’t significant. That seems to be the thing to do these days. Making new games is so enormously time-consuming and expensive, it’s easier to slap a new coat of paint on an old game, sell it at a reduced price and squeeze the last few drops out.
What’s significant is CDPR isn’t selling it. They’re giving it away. Like… for free. Continue reading ⟩⟩ “First hit is free”
I was going through my morning video queue, and noticed right before stopping to write a bit an upcoming video was titled “I hope your old plane crashes!” Some context; this video was from an aviation channel that does historical commentary as well as current aviation stories, hosted by a pilot instructor with extensive flying experience on the 737, as well as other aircraft. Now, being from West Texas (the region, not West, Texas the town) I am VERY familiar with the video title, as it is an anecdotal quote provided by Waylon Jennings, deceased country (and technically rock) star. He was from this neck-of-the-woods, you see; as was the person this quote was (allegedly) said to: Buddy Holly. And of course this is in reference to February 3rd, 1959; colloquially known as “The Day the Music Died.” I wrote extensively about this many years ago, although given the state of the internet I’m sure that article is long gone. I know I don’t have *my* copy of it anymore. But, knowing I would very much like to watch that video, I knew I needed to get that out of my system before writing about anything else.
So, we return to the final battle of Girls und Panzer (the television series, not the final battle ever done in the *franchise*) with Episode 11: The battle gets fierce!!!

I don’t typically follow trends when it comes to video games on YouTube and Twitch. If friends want to play the games and they’re cheap enough I’ll play them for a bit, but not many stick. I love Phasmophobia and TCG Card Shop Simulator for instance, but something about Choicer Voicer called to me in a way most games don’t.

This week, I’m tired.
I’ve been filling all of my days off with trying to catch up with cleaning that’s been building up, and unfortunately I’ve been having little success making a dent. On the up side Terraria had an update.
I haven’t gotten to play much, but as far as I’m aware, there’s new accessories for summoners, and a rework of all of the early game gem staffs.
What’s everyone else doing?
There's a wonderful way to balance difficulty in RPGs, and designers try to prevent it. For some reason.
How do you know the rules of the game are what the game claims? More importantly, how do the DEVELOPERS know?
The game was a dud, and I'm convinced a big part of that is due to the way the game leaned into its story. Its terrible, cringe-inducing story.
Remember the superhero MMO from 2009? Neither does anyone else. It was dumb. So dumb I was compelled to write this.
Lists of 'best games ever' are dumb and annoying. But like a self-loathing hipster I made one anyway.
Ever wonder how seemingly sane people can hate popular games? It can happen!
Here is a 13 part series where I talk about programming games, programming languages, and programming problems.
What is this silly word, why did some people get so irritated by it, and why did it fall out of use?
I was trying to make fun of how Silent Hill had lost its way but I ended up making fun of fighting games. Whatever.
I'm not surprised a fighting game has an absurd story. I just can't figure out why they bothered with the story at all.
