As a follow up to the lamentations of the last few days…
Son: Feeling better! Nice to see the little guy bright-eyed again.
Bandwidth Issues: Fixed! A friend has nicely allowed me to put my images on his server. More on this once the move is complete. Everyone thank Pixy Misa.
Funeral: I don’t want to say too much here. This is one of those things that needs 500 words or none. My wife attended the funeral.
Work: I can see the finish line on this project. Assuming I don’t do anything stupid, (like, write buggy software) I should have a nice, quiet holiday.
Philosophy of Moderation
The comments on most sites are a sewer of hate, because we're moderating with the wrong goals in mind.
Wolfenstein II
This is a massive step down in story, gameplay, and art design when compared to the 2014 soft reboot. Yet critics rated this one much higher. What's going on here?
Object-Oriented Debate
There are two major schools of thought about how you should write software. Here's what they are and why people argue about it.
Could Have Been Great
Here are four games that could have been much better with just a little more work.
Artless in Alderaan
People were so worried about the boring gameplay of The Old Republic they overlooked just how boring and amateur the art is.

I’m glad things seem to be going better for you now. All the best to you and yours for happy holly days!
Some may say I delight in bringing bad news, that I have ever been a herald of woe, troubles following me like crows. “Ill news is an ill guest,” they say.
Nevertheless, I say to you, I do not believe your bandwidth issues are solved, at least not permanently. You write too well. I just hope that when you’ve an audience so large that, in order to pay for the bandwidth you use, you have to triple your already doubled and redoubled rates, you remember those of us who can say, “I knew him when.”
Glad to hear things are looking up! I always hate when reality intrudes upon my Christmas holiday, but it always seems like something is looming… so I’m glad things are working out for you:)
What about your daughter? ;) Her tonsillectomy must still be coming up, eh? I hope it goes well. I hope she’s not too nervous.
Glad to hear your son is doing better.
Hello sir! It’s me, your neighbourhood “reading through your archives) fairy. Just letting you know once more that the link to your wife’s blog is broken. (on, obviously, a different page.)
I understand if the transitive nature of the internet means that you don’t really care if several-year-old posts have broken links, but I thought I’d let you know about this once, since it’s a link that shares your domain.
Cheers!
