Warning: Rude language. Also funny.
Batman: Arkham City
A look back at one of my favorite games. The gameplay was stellar, but the underlying story was clumsy and oddly constructed.
Revisiting a Dead Engine
I wanted to take the file format of a late 90s shooter and read it in modern-day Unity. This is the result.
D&D Campaign
WAY back in 2005, I wrote about a D&D campaign I was running. The campaign is still there, in the bottom-most strata of the archives.
Was it a Hack?
A big chunk of the internet went down in October of 2016. What happened? Was it a hack?
Crash Dot Com
Back in 1999, I rode the dot-com bubble. Got rich. Worked hard. Went crazy. Turned poor. It was fun.
Needs more severed limbs. :P
It’s not bad, but I’m afraid it’s not a patch on Ryan vs. Dorkman.
Link to the original here
And RvD2 here
Yeah, I linked that one before.
The special effects in this one were actually done by Ryan Wieber, although you can tell he didn’t choreograph it.
Thanks for the link to RvD2 – I’m downloading that one now.
Fourth post!
Amusing, to say the least. Man, what would people do if they had a set of lightsabers? Y’know, besides remove pesky posts from their backyard? First order of business: lightsaber-resistant body armor. Sparring or no sparring, I enjoy my limbs.
Bimbo can’t act!
That’s called casting for looks instead of talent.
I didn’t think it was funny at all, more because of the flat, poorly-timed delivery than the writing, not that the writing was particularly good. These actors have all the screen presence and comic timing of a box of donuts.
As David Sedaris said, “There’s a reason that ordinary people aren’t tv stars… we’re boring.”
bad acting, or acting where it looks like you’re acting, isn’t always the fault of the actor – at least a part of the blame can go to the director. . .
a good example comes from this one book on directing i read a couple of years ago where the author taught a class and told a student to pretend to be a cat thief and sneak from one end of the room to the other. . . the student did as he was told and ended up looking like the hamburglar. . .
next the teacher told the same student to go from one end of the room to the other, but this time she told him to not pretend to be anything, just do it as quietly as he possibly could. . . end result was a great bit of “acting” in which the dude really looked like a burglar. . .
i guess my point is that when both the director and the actors are amateurs, unless one or the other has some natural talent, you’ll see it in the end result, and it’s not just the actor’s fault – a good director can make a big difference. . .
that said, i kinda dug it. . . my favorite lightsaber fan vid, however, is probably that leia’s 22nd birthday one:

That was great ^^ Are they a series or…
now THAT is badass. (the leia’s birthday one)
(also, haha, i got first! XD)
Haha. I remember watching this about a year ago, with one of my friends. It’s definitely an awesome video, and I love the lines…
“I didn’t know we had started kicking?”
“We’ve started kicking.”
Gezus! Those effects are great! Acting is…meh, but who cares! LIGHT SABERZZZ!!
That was highly entertaining. I can’t wait for the sequel.
Hmmm… “acting” style’s reminiscent of John Carpenter’s “Dark Star.”
