Most current readers probably don’t realize this, but this blog started out as a log of the D&D campaign I was running. It began in Sept 2005, and ended a couple of months ago. Some of the guys you see in the comments were players in the campaign.
The campaign blog fell by the wayside when I got too busy to keep it all going. For a few weeks it came down to a choice between prep time for next week and blogging for last week, and of course the prep time had to come first.
Now the campaign is over and I have 80% of it here in the archives. The blog has expanded and now covers a lot of geek-ish subjects. I assumed that for the most part people who didn’t play in the campaign wouldn’t want to read it, but I’ve gotten several comments and emails from outsiders and total strangers who expressed interest in the thing. Now I’m wondering how many of you out there have actually read the campaign so far? Anyone keen on reading the rest, or just curious how it all turned out?

I’ve read it, and I’m still rather curious as to whether they managed to destroy the lich or themselves. My personal solution – throw the thingy into orbit around the sun! That way it’s always in sunlight and the lich guy is always weakened.

I noticed the D&D campaign log a few days ago. Since I’m planning on a similar thing myself I will probably end up reading it eventually.
I have no need to read over such things. As I was there and documented the whole affair in great detail. Notes of which I studied with the ut-most attention. You see the end of this tale is not within your mind because it does not exist. It is not there much like the concept of time and mater as one united entity is in your mind. The perplexidies are far beyond those that could not presieve under their own observations the events that unfolded. As a time of fact, all of this reminds me of this

New reader, not really interested. But I’ve been out of RPG’s for a while, and I know some folks love that sort of thing. (Ok, confession time: I once did it myself for a 2 person campaign wargame with a friend.)
I had already sent an email conveying my praise for the quality of the campaign and of the documentation, but I don’t know if I explicitly suggested a continuation of the narrative. To that end, I would like to cast a vote in favor of continuation.
I also would vote for finishing it. I read the whole campaign in a couple of days a few months ago, and was disappointed when I realized that it wasn’t finished – and wasn’t going to be. That D&D campaign log was what kept me reading your site in the first place, until the rest of the content wormed under my skin and convinced me to stick around.
Wow. I guess that settles it. I no longer have the audio recordings, but I’ll try and get the story in order from memory. It won’t be as good as the rest, but it should finish the story and give the thing some closure.

To add my comment to the rest. I agree it would be pretty cool to see the end since I documented the first part then was busy at the end of it all, thus missing most of the ending. Would love to read it as a whole, not so sure it is worth the time it would take to remember it all on Shamus’ part. :)
What ho! Another soldier in the war on literacy. *Please* tell me this isn’t the same Eric who played the gaylord — ER — bladelord in the campaign, because that would certainly be ironic, to say the least. In either case, I hope he is safely institutionalized.

Does anyone at this site answer their emails? Youngs (mostly those named Patrick but the other two have definite symptoms) seem to have this disease where they pop in once in a while and then cease to exist for years on end only to followed by another random appearance some time decades later. Sometimes its funny.
I’m quite good about the email-answering stuff. The next campaign is going to be a Starwars campaign.
I’m not sure how that happened.
It will start once I have it written. The players are still rolling up their characters and arguing about whether or not they want a campaign that involves slaughtering Ewoks, or if they want to do something a little more mature. Like slaughtering gungans. It’s going to be a short mini-campaign (about four sessions) just to see how well SW suits us. (There are still seats open, btw.)

this is for that pualy character up there. For the record we have used up all the jokes (especially the gay orriented ones) concerning eachothers characters.

And again, I agree with these guys. Glad you finished it. I loved reading it.
The campaign was amazing. Do you have any advice for a party of wizard, barbarian, paladin and cleric? All of them are either good-aligned or neutral; no evil-aligned characters (though it would be sort of amusing to see the paladin try to kill his teammates).
I certainly liked the campaign. Makes me want to run one of my own.
