On a slightly related note, I saw that http://www.thinkgeek.com has started selling chainmail T-shirts, made out of actual metal rings forged together. Can the chainmail bikini be far behind?
Shamus, what do you think of the following: suppose you solicited character designs from your readers for guest cameos as NPCs in the strip? We could just send you the basic stats and gear and a paragraph (100 word limit) and then you and Shawn could decide whether its a character you might want to use. I know I’d be fascinated to see how Shawn visualizes my favorite characters that have served me well over the years. All of us have our old warhorses, and for those of us who dont have time to D&D anymore, it would be really satisfying to see those old friends back in action (even if only in one panel of one comic strip).
Thank you Shawn for the color! It transformed the comic from ‘kewl’ to *Awesome*. With sparkles! Just like a glitter-infused D20.
And Shamus, your contribution is, of course, brilliant. My one and only complaint about Chainmail Bikini is there isn’t a new one every day!

I have to resist the urge to really Lucas things up, there’s generally been one panel of every comic where after I scan it in and color it and really look at it that I’m totally unhappy with. (Aside from the first strip.) Part of me really wants to go back and redraw those individual panels and replace them, but I doubt anyone else would care.
Well, I gotta say I like the colour a lot better, it breathes a life into the comic I found lacking at first. Well done Shawn, really nice work.
I think the ending commentary was the best of the bit.

Came to the site for DM of the Rings and loved it (read through from beginning to end on Friday in one sitting.. still haven’t managed that with the extended movies though) and I’m loving the new strip just as much.
Oh, and about Chainmail bikinis..
They’ve been available in the UK Larping scene for quite sometime now already (yes, I am that much of a geek that not only do I roleplay around a table… but also by camping out and running around a muddy field or wood in the middle October in the rain)
They used to sell them on http://www.lrpstore.com , but now I think they only make them to order… chain gets very cold in the British winters ;-)
