Someone else has discovered the joy of lampooning Lord of the Rings. In this thread, the author explores a possible ending scene to the story. It’s a pretty good use of screencaps.
Chainmail Bikini
A horrible, railroading, stupid, contrived, and painfully ill-conceived roleplaying campaign. All in good fun.
Project Button Masher
I teach myself music composition by imitating the style of various videogame soundtracks. How did it turn out? Listen for yourself.
Spec Ops: The Line
A videogame that judges its audience, criticizes its genre, and hates its premise. How did this thing get made?
Trusting the System
How do you know the rules of the game are what the game claims? More importantly, how do the DEVELOPERS know?
D&D Campaign
WAY back in 2005, I wrote about a D&D campaign I was running. The campaign is still there, in the bottom-most strata of the archives.

Oh, ROFL! Thanks for the link, that was great. :D I particularly liked Elrond’s comment at the end. [snicker]
Angie
I knew she was a girl. Ha!
simply awesome…….
Shoulda seen that one coming.
Hahaha, simply awesome link, had we all not been so focused on laughing over Shamus’ comics, we might have had seen that one coming :D
is it me, or did you ending just get ruined?
Witness DM of the Rings fan-fiction. How meta. ;)
Reminds me of how I was linked to this comic. A guy on the Gamespy RPG Section did something similar: http://pathogen.gorillarape.com/?p=15
Deathblade_penguin: Well, that’s not the ending I have planned, so it wasn’t “spoiled” in that sense, although if my ending isn’t as funny it will be a let-down I suppose. Can’t help that. :)
trigear: Yeah, this is a joke based on a webcomic based on a movie based on a book based on a language.
“Gimly is a woman” is a popular meme in LoTR fanon, mostly riding on a note in appendix which says that young dwarf women are mostly indistinguishable from young dwarf men. It does not say anything about beards, but by deduction… remembering that Gimly is relatively young… Elrond presents him as “son”, but perhaps he was deceived as well.
It’s disturbing and cute at the same time to see DM of the Rings fan-fiction growing around the web. Surrender to the fuzzy feeling in your stomach…
Heh… every time I watch RotK, I yell at my screen. “Don’t taunt the slashers ending!”
Of course the part that really bugs me is I’m Legolas/Gimli, not Legolas/Aragorn.
Personally, I don’t find any of the “tehehe elves are gay” variations funny anymore… I’ve heard/seen way too many of those. *g*
here’s the correct link:

Look how dirty the peasants all are. I mean, c’mon, the war’s over, let’s everybody bathe, okay?
Fame at last! :D
Kristin says:
“Of course the part that really bugs me is I'm Legolas/Gimli”
Isn’t that how Tolkien wrote it? They sail off into the sunset and this ends the Fellowship of the Ring in Middle Earth.
Congrats, Shamus! You know, what with imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and whatnot.
