I just want to point out the great work John Cox has been putting up at his new site. I first discovered his work years ago by way of the political cartoons he does with Allen Forkum. (They’re Objectivists. I’m not, but their work is witty and wonderfully drawn and I always enjoy it, even when I disagree.) Now his new site gives everyone a chance to see what else he can do.
My favorite part of the site is the series of “Say What?” cartoons, which present an already-humorous image and and empty word bubble, with the implied challenge to commenters to fill in the word bubble with something witty. This is hilarious. This one is pretty good too.
He seems to update at least once a day as well. I can’t image how he keeps up. Brilliant stuff.
Grand Theft Railroad
Grand Theft Auto is a lousy, cheating jerk of a game.
The Gameplay is the Story
Some advice to game developers on how to stop ruining good stories with bad cutscenes.
If Star Wars Was Made in 2006?
Imagine if the original Star Wars hadn't appeared in the 1970's, but instead was pitched to studios in 2006. How would that turn out?
The Death of Half-Life
Valve still hasn't admitted it, but the Half-Life franchise is dead. So what made these games so popular anyway?

Thanks for the linkage; I’ve always had a soft spot for objectivists. I’m still looking for a good cigar with a dollar sign label.
Now I gotta go get my asbestos underwear, in preparation for the coming flamewar….
All I can say is that he is brilliant. I long to have that quality to my artwork.
I pat myself on the back for finding you.. Now, I let you find all this neat stuff. Of course.. it hasn’t freed up any of my time.. now I spend it making up phrases for blank comic ballons, building bridges, etc.. so forth… thanks.. I think.
It’s amazing that despite being at the complete opposite end of the political spectrum as him and his colleague, I’m an ardant socialist and a bit of an envrionmentalist, how much I find myself nodding in agreement.
Thankyou Shamus, linker to oh so many lovely and interesting things.
Yeah, I’ve been following them for some years, as well – good stuff!
Oh, and Allan – they’re not opposed to environmentalism (as best I can tell, and from several long discussions with them by email as well), just opposed to the environmentalism movement (which is, in many ways, more of a religion than a political movement or a scientific group).
Hey Peoples
Thanks for the kind word. What a wonderful surprise finding this site! Thanks so much for the show of enthusiasm for Allen’s and my political cartoons. I try to keep up with daily stuff to stay sharp.
