{"id":484,"date":"2006-06-24T12:36:01","date_gmt":"2006-06-24T17:36:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shamusyoung.com\/twentysidedtale\/?p=484"},"modified":"2006-06-24T12:36:01","modified_gmt":"2006-06-24T17:36:01","slug":"there-she-is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shamusyoung.com\/twentysidedtale\/?p=484","title":{"rendered":"There she is!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Via Acksiom, I heard about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newgrounds.com\/portal\/view\/161181\">this very amusing little movie<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newgrounds.com\/portal\/view\/161181\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/theresheis.jpg\" alt=\"There she is!\"\/><br \/><small>There she is!<\/small><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>And there is also a sequel:<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newgrounds.com\/portal\/view\/224148\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"images\/theresheis_step2.jpg\" alt=\"There she is! - Step 2\"\/><br \/><small>There she is! Step 2<\/small><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>The second one Reminds me a great deal of old Bugs Bunny cartoons.  Visually it&#8217;s very different, but it&#8217;s funny, frantic, and wordless.  It&#8217;s a story told with motion and music, much like many of the classic Loony Toons.  <\/p>\n<p>Both animations are clever and charming, and both are pretty generously animated.  For example, there is a shot where the camera orbits the two characters for dramatic effect.  This is a pretty labor-intensive thing to do, when the animator could have just as easily cut back and forth between two static images of the characters striking different dramatic poses.  But the orbit move was a lot more interesting, so the animator went the extra mile.
