The rumor was that you could only &#8220;activate&#8221; the game three times. Before launch they said this:<\/p>\n<div class=\"quote\">This solution allows gamers to authenticate their game on three different computers with the purchase of one disc. EA Customer Service is on hand to supply any additional authorizations that are warranted. This will be done on a case-by-case basis by contacting customer support.<\/div>\n<p>And now that they have your money they say this:<\/p>\n<p><table   class=\"\" cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' border='0' align='center'><tr><td><img src='https:\/\/www.shamusyoung.com\/twentysidedtale\/images\/ea_drm.jpg' class='insetimage'   alt='ea_drm.jpg' title='ea_drm.jpg'\/><\/td><\/tr><\/table><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/games.slashdot.org\/games\/08\/06\/17\/1850222.shtml\">Slashdot thread<\/a> on this is still smouldering a little, but I didn&#8217;t see anything there we didn&#8217;t cover here a hundred times already.  I am happy to see the outrage spread, though.  Just remember, <a href=\"?p=1645\">you agreed to the poisoning when you installed the product<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Tell me one more time: Which side is the thieves and which side is the people just protecting their investment?
