Everyone else is doing it, so it <i>must<\/i> be a good idea, right?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Use of DRM to Punish People for Buying a Game:<\/strong>  <a href=\"?tag=bioshock\">Bioshock (PC)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Way to Ruin Christmas:<\/strong>  <a href=\"?p=1451\">The Wii shortage<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Game Where You Die Like, Every Twelve Seconds: <\/strong><a href=\"?p=1468\">STALKER<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Game Reviewer to be Fired for Doing His Damn Job: <\/strong><a href=\"?p=1450\">Jeff Gerstmann<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Game for the PC You&#8217;ll Own Three Years from Now:<\/strong> Crysis (Note: It will probably still run like crap.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best RPG:<\/strong>  <a href=\"?p=1055\">Jade Empire from Bioware<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Assimilation of a Great Developer Into a Monolithic Corporate Crapfactory:<\/strong> <a href=\"?p=1366\">EA Buys Bioware<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Pricetag:<\/strong> <a href=\"?p=1464\">$3.74 for STALKER, can you believe it?<\/a><\/p>\n<p><i>(Runner up: $20 for Portal.)<\/i><\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Atmosphere:<\/strong> Portal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Voice Acting:<\/strong> Portal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Music:<\/strong> Portal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Best Level Design:<\/strong> Portal<\/p>\n<p><strong>Game of the Year:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If we judged purely by hours I spent playing, then this award might end up going to <a href=\"?p=1386\">X-Com<\/a>.  It&#8217;s sort of pointless having me choose a best game from <i>this<\/i> year, since I tend to shop for stuff two years old.
