In fact, looking at <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Jane_Austen\">what she&#8217;s done<\/a>, I note that <em>Northanger Abbey<\/em> is the only one which has not been made into a movie at least once.  (Although it has been <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0091649\/\">adapted for television<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0844794\/\">Twice<\/a>.)  She&#8217;s been dead for 190 years, and yet her work is still cherished and read by millions. I think it&#8217;s safe to say that she were to somehow put out a bookl tomorrow they wouldn&#8217;t have any trouble finding people to buy it.<\/p>\n<p>Which makes <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/pages\/live\/articles\/news\/news.html?in_page_id=1770&#038;in_article_id=469342\">this story<\/a> sort of amusing:  A guy takes a few chapters from some of her more well-known novels, changes the names, and sends them off to several large publishers.
