{"id":10863,"date":"2011-03-01T09:04:05","date_gmt":"2011-03-01T14:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.shamusyoung.com\/twentysidedtale\/?p=10863"},"modified":"2011-03-01T09:04:05","modified_gmt":"2011-03-01T14:04:05","slug":"spoiler-warning-s4e45-i-object","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.shamusyoung.com\/twentysidedtale\/?p=10863","title":{"rendered":"Spoiler Warning S4E45: I OBJECT!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If I changed my tone as quickly as the game, then everything I wrote about Mass Effect 2 would look like this:<\/p>\n<p><strong>I am sick and tired of these<\/strong> fun and witty side quests with the<strong> ridiculous characters and their bullshit<\/strong> plot twists that engage you, challenge you, and make you <strong>puke your guts out because of how stupid the logic is and how<\/strong> the game becomes a shining example of a deep, rewarding, and sometimes intellectual role-playing <strong>brown corridor shooter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><table class='nomargin' cellspacing='0' width='100%' cellpadding='0' align='center' border='0'><tr><td><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8gtM2HA_-wI\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen class=\"embed\"><\/iframe><br\/><small><a href='http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=8gtM2HA_-wI'>Link (YouTube)<\/a><\/small><\/td><\/tr><\/table><\/p>\n<p>I really do like Tali&#8217;s loyalty mission, and I have to say we didn&#8217;t really do it justice.  There just isn&#8217;t enough time, and our format doesn&#8217;t really work all that well for long conversations laced with political intrigue. <\/p>\n<p>I think the game has five really strong sections:<\/p>\n<p>1) Tali&#8217;s loyalty mission<br \/>\n2) Legion&#8217;s loyalty mission<br \/>\n3) Mordin&#8217;s loyalty mission<br \/>\n4) Thane&#8217;s loyalty mission<br \/>\n5) The part where Guybrush is thrown into the sea and has to hold his breath for ten minutes.<\/p>\n<p>By contrast, there&#8217;s only <strong>one<\/strong> part of the game that really falls flat:<\/p>\n<p>1) Everything else<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m kidding, of course.
