  1. Ok, that’s it. I’m sending Lulzy a NEW HAT!

    Leslee
(Great comic. The “arrow” quest had me laughing out loud.)

  2. SolkaTruesilver says:

What happens when the Hobbit Rangers calls of their Zords?

Do they summon 5 elves who blend together to form a.. … sorry, got distracted by the sexiness.

  3. Old_Geek says:

Dog vomit + Nudity = fun

    1. Audacity says:

      No… It… Doesn’t… o_O

  4. Jarenth says:

In the first picture, it kind of looks like Lulzy is wearing a blocky pink suit of armor.

  5. Viktor says:

The sad part is how easy it would be to fix this quest. It’s like they didn’t even try. Remove the bow/backpack, have him state that he was injured by wolves, and make the arrow a warning to ‘leave my grandfather’s house’ rather than a pointless threat. Though the nettles don’t bug me, since for all you know he was making medicine out of the dark green centers of the leaves or something. The wolves stealing pages is unsalvageable, but one quest out of 5 being stupid is better than 4 out of 5.

Also, was it really a choice to leave him alive, or could you have ganked him if you felt like it?

    1. NotYetMeasured says:

There actually are some boars to the NNE of Budgeford and the NNW of Frogmorton, I think, so if Callum ran off in a fright it’s possible he’d hit one.

As far as the “grandfather’s house,” I don’t think the hobbits drove off the humans and took their stuff. A human barely fits in the hobbit houses, whether above or below ground. I think the battle happened far to the north. It’s unclear how Callum tracked Wil, though. I can just see the scruffy north-man making polite inquiries at the Mathom House, the Great Smials, and possibly with the Mayor and the Michel Delving Notary.

To answer your question: You can’t kill Callum; he’s just a quest-giver NPC, like the hobbits.

      1. asterismW says:

Bummer. I totally would have run him through for being so embarassingly inept.

  6. Meredith says:

Mmm, slimey wolf pages. My favourite.

  7. Daemian Lucifer says:

Wow…I know its hard to write hundreds of different quests that are interesting, but this is…Just wow…

So,who wants to bet that lulzy will soon encounter a bunch of hobbits in different colours wanting to team up and morph?

    1. acronix says:

Don´t forget the Summon Giant Guy Disguised As A Mecha spell!

  8. Kdansky says:

I literally groaned (it was a joyful kind of groan) when reading this. The assassin plot makes zero sense at all.

  9. Joe Cool says:

Do you have a tune in mind when you write Lulzy’s songs? Or is it just poetry?

  10. Guile says:

‘The Water’ is pretty interesting to me. It says something about the hobbits’ xenophobia. Why would they need a name for their river, when the rest of the world (and all rivers contained therein) might as well not exist for them?

    1. Audacity says:

But don’t they have a few rivers with different names, the Brandywine for instance?

      1. Guile says:

Huh, point. I forgot about that one, Brandybucks and all.

        1. krellen says:

The Brandybucks had to come up with a more clever name, because “The Water” was already taken.

      2. Rosseloh says:

It’s not entirely original; “Brandywine” is an English rendering of the Westron translation (Branda-nà®n “border water”, Bralda-hà®m “heady ale”) of “Baranduin”, which is Sindarin for “golden-brown river”.

  11. tremor3258 says:

The ‘enough greenery to construct a hedge maze’ line made me laugh. Also, sounds like plot may be rearing its head.

    1. asterismW says:

Ah! That’s what I’ve been missing! I love this series to death, but I’ve been feeling anxious for it to go somewhere. Of course, from what I understand, the quest hooks get better later on, and would thus be harder to make fun of. Still, I want to see Lulzy get her new threads!

    2. Zombie Pete says:

…And then you must bring us… ANOTHER SHRUBBERY!

  12. LOLdependent says:

I think that there are people that undress their characters for…other reasons than seeing their undergartments ;)
BTW, you don’t blur the fanservice part, Shamus, tss, tss, still have to learn :)

  13. Unbeliever says:

    Shamus, this:

    Tried to even the score,
    but sadly you missed.
Then were gored by a boar
    that doesn’t exist.

…is the greatest thing ever. A perfectly apt description of specific events, and a humorous metaphor for life, all wrapped up in well-metered rhyming prose.

    I’m thinking of having it framed… :)

  14. Joshua says:

One of the best ones so far! My wife and I both LOL’d quite a bit at this one. Sadly, this one played mainly straight with little deviation from the actual plot.

Bonus points for mentioning that #&*@#^ spot in the river that’s meant to look shallow and trips you up to fail the delivery quests.

AsterismW, Shamus isn’t even really doing the main plot quests since he left Archet. This is all just side quests, and are some of the sillier ones. Most of the main plot quests are serious, but the last third of Volume One got rather ridiculous with asking you to make some rather FAR journeys to go talk to various people, who send you somewhere ELSE just as far, and then send you back. When we did these quests, I was playing a Hunter and it was *still* a pain.

  15. Rutskarn says:

Yes, embrace the NudeForce. Feel its power. Feel its splendor. Reach out to touch the heat of its darkness, and allow it to consume you, that you might burn with a flame that scorches the heavens and rends nations asunder.

    1. LOLdependent says:

Happy to see you here, I have also seen Shamus on your site’s commentary section.:)

  16. Deoxy says:

The Power Rangers reference was … wow. Please tell me you had to look up what the colors actually are?

Other than that, another great entry. The “nudity” was pretty funny, too.

  17. Josh R says:

Wondering how long this series will go on for… as much as I am enjoying it , I feel it could maybe use a little refreshing, maybe a new class, maybe a new game…
