I spent most of yesterday morning hopping from one Team Fortress server to the next, trying to find one that was playing a fun game (i.e. NOT arena) with a good group (i.e. not brats) and which had enough room for myself and a few friends. The search was fruitless. I think Valve messed up a bit by having the free weekend so close to the sniper & spy updates. Longtime players have returned to the game to see what’s new. The servers were destined to be full anyway, so throwing open the doors to everyone was just going to exacerbate that.
Games were strange yesterday. Valve introduced a lot of new achievements. Veterans were going after them with gusto. The most polite way to describe this would be to say that perhaps everyone wasn’t playing in the most productive manner possible. Adding a surge of newcomers to this did not help. I think it would have been ideal to wait a week or two for things to die down before we embrace a wave of fresh players. Still, it’s not that it ruined the game. It just made things a little more crowded and hectic than they needed to be.
After a few hours of frustration I broke down and secured us a Twenty Sided server:
Look for “Twenty Sided” in the server list, or open the console and enter the following: connect 208.167.245.178:27015
A few notes about this server:
- As of right now, the server variable for ALLTALK is on, which means people on both teams can hear all voice chat. This makes it harder to form strategy, but makes the game feel more friendly. You can congratulate the opposing player for a good kill or wish the other guys better luck next round. The voice channel trends towards joking, which is the atmosphere I’d like to encourage.
- I know how a bad turn can elicit a burst of profanity from even the most polite player. Swearing is not forbidden, although I would appreciate it (personally) if we could avoid f-word carpet-bombing and sailor talk. Keep it friendly.
- I’d like it to be as newbie friendly as possible. If you have a question, ask. If someone asks a question, try to help them out.
- We’ve got about 360+ members in the Twenty Sided group right now. Assuming 1% to 5% of users playing at any given time (that’s a pretty reasonable figure for online communities) that’s just not enough to support a single server. So, the server is open to the public. Keep in mind that not everyone in there is from the site. Many will just be regular players, passing through. If lots of people want in but the server is full, we can think about putting a simple password on it during peak hours. (Maybe a “d20 only” Friday night or something.)
- If you’d like to be recognized as a visitor from the site, you can put a [d20] in front of your name. So, change your name from “xXKillStealrXx” to “[d20]xXKillStealrXx”. Don’t feel obligated or anything.
- Assuming I have the map rotation working, there should be no arena maps. Arena just has way too much downtime. I think the other gametypes already squander a lot of time with their pre-game timers and respawn timers, but arena seems to be a game mode designed to keep you from playing it. A couple of bad runs can result in you spectating for 8 out of 10 minutes. Which is about the same level of interactivity you experience while channel-surfing. This is less than optimal. The server should just be CTF and payload (my favorite) maps. Maybe we’ll mix it up a bit later.
I have set up Clan Pay, which is a Paypal-driven system that lets visitors donate to keep the site running. If you’d like to pitch in, please do so. I’ve learned not to underestimate your generosity, so I’ll warn you that the server is only $30 USD a month. So don’t go crazy. We’re looking for beer money, not cash to pull off an IPO. If people don’t donate enough I’ll be happy to make up the difference.
Open thread. Let me know how the server works for you.
The Gradient of Plot Holes
Most stories have plot holes. The failure isn't that they exist, it's when you notice them while immersed in the story.
Are Lootboxes Gambling?
Obviously they are. Right? Actually, is this another one of those sneaky hard-to-define things?
Black Desert Online
This Korean title would be the greatest MMO ever made if not for the horrendous monetization system. And the embarrassing translation. And the terrible progression. And the developer's general apathy towards its western audience.

The Best of 2019
I called 2019 "The Year of corporate Dystopia". Here is a list of the games I thought were interesting or worth talking about that year.
This is possibly the only site tht would warn people against giving it more money.
And on that note I’m heading off for the server now.
Truth. You rock pretty hard, Shamus.
Man, I don’t even play these games and I’m excited. I have to agree with Debaser too. You provide a lot of value – content and stuff like this – Shamus. You shouldn’t be surprised when your readership gives back.
Keep up the good work.
It’s a real pity that you don’t enjoy arena, because the two new maps, Nucleus and Sawmill are amongst the best-designed maps from Valve so far. Perhaps my background in Counterstrike helps me deal with the long down times. And as a quick, nerdy correction, no-one is really ‘going for’ any weapons, since they’re now handed out completely at random, to anyone who is on a server (spectators included). I’ve seen grown men cry after watching a free weekend spectator gain three of the unlocks after playing for three successive hours.
All that said, what is your favorite map type/map, Shamus?
EDIT: Can’t believe I forgot to say thanks for the awesome server. This must be the only website that would ask its users to donate *less*.
Great fun on the server this morning. Immediately justified the 9.99$ for the game, though Shamus and I did little more than wage a scout war on 3Fort for endless rounds.
If anyone knows/figures out/can definitively deny the existence of a hands-free option for the microphones, that would be great. L4D has it, dang it!
Just played some rounds – that game is awesome! I had quite some fun playing as a medic.
Out of sheer curiosity: Does the announcer lady in the orginal version also sound kinda… orgasmic when you score? I found her voice surprisingly irritating in the german version of the game. :)
So, you do not mind newbies? Team Fortress has always seemed interesting to me, but I could never find a demo until yesterday and then I had no idea what to do to even get in a game.
Thanks.
Well, I certainly enjoyed tonight’s game. Accidental achievements are the best achievements.
Sounds awesome, I’ll be sure to try it when I actually have time later on. One thing I would say is that if there was going to be a “Group only password night” that I’d prefer it to be a Saturday, as I’m busy 9/10 Friday’s.
I’ve had TF2 for a few months now, and chose this weekend of all weekends to actually try and get into the game in anything other than just a scratch the surface sort of way. So I’m really happy to find another server that I can be reasonably sure won’t be 99% populated by undesirable sorts.
Now all I gotta do is stop playing Soldier all the time and get some practice with the other classes.
Too bad it doesn’t seem possible to make it a TF2 group server, as with left 4 dead.
had a whole bunch of fun on the server though.
I got out TF2 myself to give it another shot. I’ll try and join the server :-
What saddens me most is because of my location (Bangladesh) I get to miss out on all the fun. :(
Oh well, have fun people!
I played about 10 minutes yesterday on the free weekend before paying the $10 for the game. Last night as I was cruising the server list I saw yours listed and immediately added it to my favorites. Little did I know you just put it up. I hope my n0ob medic skills helped someone out for the hour or so that I played.
Thanks for the server Shamus!
I’ve actually seen another site in which the donations page consisted of “We don’t want any! Go away!”
But yeah. If I had the right mindset for multiplayer games, I’d totally play TF2 on this server.
Just out of curiosity, why is there only one L4D server listed on that page if we have two?
Well, this is interesting… I’ve always been TF2 curious, but never had the courage to try it out, as I kind of suck at FPSs. With a d20 server though, maybe I’ll give it a try.
Also: have you gotten bored with L4D, Shamus? :P Haven’t seen you on there is weeks.
Shamus…
I just wanna say, “I love Twenty Sided” again.
People are so friendly here. It’s like… I imagine that all the good people on the internet go here when they die.
Yes. Twenty Sided is connected to Heaven, so that all its denizens may read and post here.
Just like 4Chan is connected to Hell. Definitely.
Hooray! I’ma gonna play it RIGHT NOW.
Fun place to play, good crowd. Seems like you like Soldier, Shamus?
How do you create a clan tag?
I think it’s important to be able to switch to arena when there are only a small number of players online… but, given the size and well-connectedness of the community, I don’t think that’s going to be a problem.
If I was a Team Fortress type of guy I’d be there right now. Nice to know it’s happening, though :)
…Why is it, whenever I try to join a twenty sided game the server is full!
oh well… :-p
Well there you go Shamus… finally encouraged me to play TF2, ha! Something about knowing there’s an actual community playing, even if i’m not too deep a part of it, is really encouraging… heck, you guys nearly convinced me to pick up L4D for that reason alone (though for some reason, my trial copy hosed on freaky friday :p ) Thanks for your generosity!
:edit: I roll as thebackstageguy, so once my intern duties are up this week I’ll jump in!
On clan tags, you have to change your name on the Steam friends thing, that is what all of the current source games go off for names.
It’s a shame that I cannot just pull up the console with ~ and type in “Name WNxAdalore – Skirmisher” randomly, leading to sending messages by changing names. :P
Trying to get in right now, I want to show people how nasty the FORCE’A’NATURE is, when wielded by me… heheheh…
http://steamcommunity.com/id/Adalore
I’ll look into adding my self to the D20 group.
All talk also leads too me some times saying. “Sneak attack bonus!” and stabbing a bunch of people.
While our round of 2Fort today was pretty fine, I still really don’t like that map. It would be cool to lose it, in my opinion. And why no capture point maps? Badlands, Steel, Dustbowl and all sorts of others are really fun to play, in my opinion. What do you have against those?
I love the server, and will play it pretty much whenever it isn’t full. Thanks, Shamus!
Ben
Might wanna set the player cap to 32 instead of 24. Really is hard to join right now because of overfilling. (However if that costs more or anything, disregard everything I just said.)
Played the server today for a couple of hours and I definately had fun. It was nice with some background chatter that was actually worth listening to for a change, even if I didn’t join in (got no mic).
I think I might just have to do that again.
Actually you can change your name in-game. Enable the console (via the Options menu), then type “setinfo name I’d-RTFM-if-there-were-a-FM”. It probably works with other names, too ;-)
Man! Now I really want this game. And a computer capable of playing it. …and a pony.
Woo! My prayers have been answered and I will leave the Left 4 Dead threads alone.
I’m usually on as varying names, although today it was Knight Artemis. I had a fun time Axtinguishing a whole mess of people on Turbine.
One last comment: rage-wise, I’ve found Arena to be more enjoyable. Any downtime is spent cooling off, observing player-player strategies, or generally admiring the map. Although it is annoying if a sniper repeatedly gets you at the beginning of three rounds in a row, it is still better (for me) than having that sniper kill me 10 times in the equivalent time frame in a Payload map.
So please, give Arena a chance. It’s not as bad as you think.
Do you mind someone joining in who hasn’t managed to get a headset yet?
Yeah. My desktop picked an awesome time to have its hard drive explode. :(
Well, that was fun. I suppose I really ought to learn to play better, whee. Server added to favorites.
I congratulated Shamus for killing me at one point … ;)
So, I have decided that noclip the spy is my mortal enemy.
I just finished a few hours of rounds, and I've got to say that it was one of the most enjoyable servers I've ever played on. I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere and enjoyable background chatter, which I haven't been able to find on most other servers. Now I just need to find a mic so I can take more of a part in the conversation.
Hurray! I’m coming in!
Also, more payload, less anything else. Payload is great!
I cannot wait for my internet to start working properly again so I can play TF2 without frustration. Hopefully it will be back up and running soon, so I can hang out with you guys, light you on fire, and shoot you in the head from miles away.
Thank you so much for putting this together- we all know how hard you’ve worked to build a positive community here on your site, and it really shows on the server. Definitely worth throwing you some candy.
I play as Goto Dengo, looking forward to seeing you all on the field of glory.
Please no Arena, it is incredibly boring to die and sit around.
More on topic, it has been great fun today. Thanks for giving me my Sandman!
If I might add: one round of CTF with 1 or 2 captures to win should make for 15-20 minutes games. Or no CTF at all. Payload!!!
Blah. Why don’t I have this game? >.>
Well this is totally awesome! I will happily play tomarrow when I can on the server. I am so glad I have a mic.
What is with all you people against 2fort and CTF altogether? Though I like all the game modes, CTF is my favorite. Of all maps, I love 2fort the best. If you see me playing, I am usually on a 24/7 2fort + instant respawn server. I will not ask for such a thing, as all of us here have varied tastes, but don’t remove 2fort please :)
I am so excited to start setting fire to some of you guys :D
Volatar the Pyro has entered the battle, all fear his wand of fiery death!
I joined in a few games earlier today and had a blast. Thanks for setting this up.
I’ll play as soon as I’m done redownloading the game.
When I tried to boot it up last night it was covered in so many virtual cobwebs that it crashed on me, so I uninstalled it, and am now waiting for it to redownload before I can play again.
Which sucks.
On a side note, we need some moderators. It gets pretty wooly late at night. I only have so much tolerance for the use of the word “faggot” or “F*ck your mother” before I have to leave.
Yeah Gahazakul definitely has a point, while the d20’ers are fine we are getting some annoying people on the server.
Ah yes, after playing for a little while earlier, I remembered the other reason why I never play competitive multiplayer games: my skill level is below-average, and I’m constantly getting five deaths minimum for every kill I manage. Once again, there’s no real way to get a feel for how things work without getting pummeled — no useful feedback on how to keep spies off your back or your sentries, for instance, or how to avoid snipers, or any feedback whatsoever beyond “this guy killed you.” (I did get the Master of Disguise achievement a few minutes after Shamus killed me, mind you, but I wasn’t even trying and still got killed shortly thereafter.) And before I get a chorus of “suck less,” I just don’t play that way, nor do people work that way to begin with.
So, back to Left 4 Dead singleplayer for me, I suppose … which is a shame because I rather like TF2’s setting better. Now that I’ve immersed myself in the various shennanigans of TF2, zombies feel kind of … ehh. (Also, I get a much better framerate on TF2 than L4D.) Now, if TF2 had some sort of singleplayer component, and/or if bots existed …
Perhaps I have some incredibly high standard of quality, but the d20 server was fairly awful when I was just on, around 0430 zulu.
It can partially be attributed to the lack of a strong community of regulars, thanks to its relative newness, and its, at the time, extraordinarily high population of underage players.
Every decent server I’ve ever played on has had a strict 18 and over policy. This sounds terrible written down, but the only way you can tell if a player is under 18 is if they’re using the mic while distinctly underage or if they have an egregiously terrible name. In either case, you want them out out out.
But if they refrain from such things, they can remain on the server, undetected.
@49: There are TF2 bots. They even ship with the game.
What, you wanted them to move around? Sorry, you’re out of luck there.
@44: CTF is a depreciated game mode because it’s trivially easy for both teams to turtle up and finish the 30 minute match in a stalemate.
@bbot:
I don’t know about an over 18 policy, but I was on at the same time as you and there was definitely a large number of inexperienced players on the server this evening. I actually ended up wondering off and finding a different server because the teams were so unbalanced (for a while I was the highest scoring player on my team which is always a bad sign).
@Yar Kramer:
I’d urge you to keep at it, when I started playing I was in pretty much the same situation. But with time I went from awful to not-quite-so-awful. My general advice would be to pick one of the easier classes starting out and play with that until you learn the basics. I started out mostly playing as a pyro or a heavy and I think they’re a good starting point. Engineer is great fun but this weekend is probably a bad time to try and learn to play it. The recent spy achievements means that there are an awful lot of spys running around trying to sap your sentries so you might find it easier to play as a pyro for a bit to get the hang of killing enemy spies.
I just played some. Was nice. We played on 2Fort and i ran some engineer scams, setting up teleporters inside their base and suchlike.
IMO you should pull out 2Fort though. In TF2 it’s really hard to win. If you want a big, long map i’d suggest Cashworks (community map). It’s fun, has a lot of interesting segments (the uphill/downhill segment especially), and builds up to a huge finish.
I’m also a fan of tc_hydro, but i’m probably the only tc_hydro fan in history.
Anyway, we’ll see if i can put up with the new item unlock system enough to actually play >_<
2Fort is my favorite map in the game.
I also like Windows Vista.
Apparently, I’m a contrarian…
@Adeon: I think I should be clearer about my exact problems, now that I’ve got them mentally sorted out. Basically, whether or not my skill level actually is appreciably below everyone else’s, everyone around me (to borrow Shamus’s description) are players who say “That was fun, I only died three times,” whereas my reaction is “This is frustrating, I died three times.” Nor did it help that invariably, invariably, whatever team I happened to be on ended up losing.
So, on some fundamental level, TF2 really isn’t for me. I hate being in the position of “liking a game for its characters and setting” when the actual gameplay goes against me as a gamer … I mean, you can generally adjust this somehow for singleplayer games (or co-op ones like Left 4 Dead where you’re principally fighting the AI, just like in singleplayer ones), and if you can’t the developer’s done something fundamentally wrong, but it’s generally not something that’s doable in skill-based multiplayer FPS’s like TF2.
(No, by the way, don’t try to talk me out of it — it will only end up in a vicious circle of me saying “I don’t like this game because of element X” and everyone else saying “But element X is vital to the experience and therefore you should play it anyway.” Also a shame because TF2 maps seem like they’d be more fun to design than e.g. Left 4 Dead maps, which apart from anything else would have to be based in “hard realism.”)
I’ve owned TF2 since the release of the Orange Box and played it one, I think. A server full of you guys may just be enough to start me off :)
@Yar: I’ve played the game for a few days, and I still kinda suck! Easier classes to play are Soldier, Pyro, Heavy and Medic. Medic also lets you watch how other people play. To make things easier just find a heavy or pyro, equip your heal gun (#2), and fire at him. Then just follow him around and channel your heal. when your overcharge tops up, hit secondary fire and follow them as your 10 seconds of invunerability makes things fun!
The other three are basic shooty fun: Heavy involves just firing bullets and seeing what happens; Pyro is run up and melt peoples faces; and Soldier is fire happy rockets at people.
Edit: Note to self, refresh pages if you go get dinner before you finalise your reply. And yeah, the “I died THREE times to kill ONE OF THEM D:” feeling does tend to make competitive shooty shooty gameplay kinda unfun, sadly.
The server reboot pushed me to quit playing and finally go to bed. If it had stayed on, I probably would’ve kept playing for hours. Teams were a little stacked, which probably kinda sucked for those on the short end, but I had fun.
And if we’re suggesting community maps, cp_freight and pl_frontier are ones I’ve really enjoyed.
Yar, you’re not alone: count me in as another person wishing this game had the bots it was touted as having pre-release. My group and I only play one game on public servers (WolfET, and even that on a mostly-bot server), preferring to avoid the name-calling and general randomness of dealing with large groups of strangers. So any multiplayer game without bots and/or co-op is right out.
In fact, Valve lost four actual sales (as opposed to pirates’ “lost sales”) of the Orange Box (and a hefty chunk of goodwill) because of this. I rushed right out and bought five copies for me and my friends when it came out. When I installed it and found the bots didn’t end up in the final version of TF2, I returned the four unopened ones.
It’s really a shame, given how generally strong the HL2 engine bots are (e.g. CS:S), and how engaging L4D’s AI opponents are. What’s even more disappointing is how uncharacteristically unhelpful Valve is being about the third-party bot developers.
@50
Even with a mic it may be hard to tell a persons age. I turn 18 in less than 3 weeks, yet my voice still sounds like a 13 year olds over a mic (not in real life though, thank goodness!)
@51
If you can’t break a turtle on 2fort…
Well, lets just say I can. Its trivially easy to do so in my opinion.
Its all opinion based I guess. We will never accomplish a decision on it through voting or debating. Shamus must decide on this one.
I had the game uninstalled, but this made me want to give it a try again. I tend to suck at FPS as soon as the opponents are not stupid bots (while I love cooperative gameplay like in Leaft4Dead), but I want to give it a shot again (pun fully intended). :)
After reading this, I finally found the iniative to go out and (try to) buy the game.
Sadly, I didn´t find it at the nearest Maul -and- when I wa there I remembered that my DiscDrive is broken… So until the later is fixed, I won´t be able to play.
I like this kind of game and only hear great things about it, so now I have another reason to fix the drive.^^’
Ah, this weekend was too much fun for TF 2. Is it just me, or does anyone else find that the Payload gametype is horrifically tipped in favour of the attacking team? I’ve very rarely seen a successful defense, and usually it’s absolute chaos attempting to stop that cart from moving those last ten feet to the final point.
I love it.
Also, man, I’d forgotten how much fun playing Heavy was. Revving down is for suckers.
On the subject of TF2’s great style and setting BUT lack of solo potential…
I think Valve need to make a single-player game using the TF2 style. Need. Surely there’s a lot of potential to mine, and a large enough audience who’d be interested in playing it.
I reckon they should go for an episodic approach right from the start.
And, perhaps less obviously, I think they should try to make a first-person shooter aimed at a younger age group.
Something like a 20s/30s era Incredibles. A Pixar version of Indiana Jones. Pulp comics sort of idiom.
That sort of thing has been done before ( e.g. the Sky Captain movie ) but combine the design strength of Valve with the aesthetic of TF2…could be a winner.
Anyway.
Like many, I love the style and rigorous design of TF2 but have avoided actually venturing online to play. My GF and I will be upgrading our puters in the very near future. L4D is high on our list of priorities, but the Twenty Sided Server may persuade us to give TF2 a go as well.
Maybe see you guys soon.
Oh lord, there is a Twenty-Sided server.
I need this game.
Now.
PS, isn’t there a way to have reserved slots? That way if the server is full and someone from the Twenty Sided group wants to join, it’ll kick one of the non-members.
Yeah, reserved slots would be awesome.
Hey, I’ve played TF2 on the box, which was fun but rather small. I bought it in the OB, played one match and nothing else. Now I’m interested in picking it up, but how newbie-friendly is the game?
Also, is there a way to get rid of my own pic?
@Selifator
Depends on how experienced you are with arcade MP FPSs. If, like, a fair number of PC gamers, you’ve been weaned on Unreal, Tribes and Quake, this will feel like riding a bicycle. If, like a fair number of other PC gamers, you’ve only been dabbling in Thief-style single player FPSs or other genres, it’ll look daunting.
That said, Valve loooves playtesting and balancing long after the cows have gone home. Practically anything you do from picking your nose to kicking the tiniest bit of ass is rewarded in a rather pleasant manner.
I’ve done a fair number of FPS games, and I did enjoy TF2, also on the box. I guess I’ll just give it a try then.
Good plan.
@Yar Kramer:
Ok based on that it does sound like TF2 is not the game for you. I’m sorry to hear that :(
@GabrielMobius:
I think that there is a slight advantage to the BLU team in payload races but assuming equal skill levels a successful defense is reasonably common.
A lot of it comes down to the RED team being able to temporarily stop the offensive after each checkpoint. This gives the RED engineers time to setup defenses which then requires BLU to spend the time taking them out. Setting up multiple sentry guns with supporting fields of fire will stop an offensive dead in it’s tracks.
OK, I just played some rounds on the server. Had a lot of fun, although the fact that I was the highest-scoring player for a while suggests that the skill level may have been somewhat below average. The atmosphere is much better than most public servers, though, which makes the game that much more enjoyable. Thanks a lot for setting this thing up, Shamus.
I’m very afraid of this game. It’s been out for so long that I can’t help but be put off by the fact that I’d be such a huge n00b and a deterrent to most teams that they’d shun me.
Michael:
This isn’t a Professional gaming training ground or something, we are on to trade blows with some cool folks.
It was a nice server but I think being on in the early morning local time meant there wasn’t much atmosphere and chatter. Also, having a massive ping isn’t great either. I forgot to thank you for the server Shamus, so thanks. I’m Carriage in game.
Well, I gave it a try, couldn’t get into any of the servers, got in one, was the only player, checked my ping, had 250, quit the game.
Right, retry tomorrow.
Thanks for setting up a friendly server, Shamus. It was a great place to dip into the PC version of TF2.
Was really fun playing with you all today.
Look forward to doing it again.
I want to wholeheartedly thank you for convincing me to play this great game.
Engineers Rock!
Very fun games last night, special props to the other snipers who were engaged in a small war with me, you got some beautiful headshots on me even when I was jumping around. Very friendly atmosphere as well, not a bad apple in the bunch as far as I could tell :]
Great fun last night (the wee, morning hours of the 26th). Thanks for putting up the server, and looking forward to more.
Long time reader, first comment, so I have to start by thanking you for all the great stuff you put up!
Nice going Shamus, this is the fourth time you’ve made me buy a game (and this time a multiplayer FPS (which I suck at and generally don’t like all that much)). They really should be paying you for the incredible marketing you do. Haven’t had time for or gotten into the twenty sided server for very long, but I’ll try to get on to give you some easy kills as often as possible.
Aw man, wish I had seen this when it was initially posted. I spent all weekend getting back into TF2 and wasted most of it on a server full of 13 year olds (you should have seen some of the spray tags they played with;kids these days, yeesh). Ah well, gave me a chance to hone my Engi routines while ignoring voice chat. I’m going to stop by soon though! Look for zomglazerz, coming soon to a CP map near you!
Nice promo for some DRM infested s***. Are you afraid of banners?
Thanks for the great TF2 server and community. I had a lot of fun playing with a group of you guys last night.
Keep up the awesome work on the site too!
Well, I died an awful lot this evening, but I had fun anyway, once I read down far enough in back posts to figure out how to log in. *grin*
The server definitely needs longer maptime. Frequently, dustbowl and pipeline end in stalemates because you can’t even get to the third stage.
I’ve had a lot of fun playing except when we get switched to a CTF, you need less of those (preferably none) and more payload.
More fun again tonight, including several rounds of taunt-only gameplay that I am glad to say grew out of the “Marquis of Queensbury Rules” round that I suggested (all heavies, all fists).
Most FUN I’ve had in an online game. When everyone can go “who cares about winning, lets punch each other as big dumb Russians for a round or two” you know you’ve got good people.
-SkitzBROphrenik
Is there any way to make the server kick one not-20sided player from the server if someone from twentysided steamgroup wants in? That way it would be more like “our” server and not just some random public server..
I know some Counter-Strike servers where “normal” players will be kicked out to make room for “VIP” players, just wondering if something like that is possible in TF2.
Had an exhilarating time playing on the server with a lot of you today, even though my communication in-game could improve (from none). Bought the game recently to play on this server, and it was my first time playing online (for any game). Looking forward to joining soon again.
Is this server still up?
the box looks like it’s saying it isn’t.
