My next comic, wherein I attempt to add more verisimilitude to Left 4 Dead.

As requested, here is the section of the wall obscured by the characters:

  1. Would it be possible at some future time to see the comments obscured by our three heroes and their text bubbles?

    Ben

  2. OmegaDawn says:

I thought this was hilarious! Love that sort of thing.

  3. Rutskarn says:

I think it was the “tap a cold one” that got me.

    “Don’t say no”, indeed.

  4. CrushU says:

    Ah, yeah.

Was playing with Shamus last night, and his spray is actually something very similar to the comic. Not as long, of course. Still pretty damn funny though.

Geez, 8 tries to beat that last level?

  5. RichVR says:

That “tap a cold one” graffito is a t-shirt waiting to happen. You have a moneymaker there, Shamus.

  6. Jericho says:

    “Tap a cold one”

    Oh, Christ, that is brilliant.

  7. Allan says:

    “It’s a witch”

And no one thought to add, ‘May we burn her?’

  8. Joe says:

CrushU: Yeah, I noticed that when I played with him, too. First time I saw it, I thought “those words can’t have ALWAYS been there…” so I put a nice big picture of Flapjack over it to keep my mind focused.

  9. DavyRam says:

Hmmm. So would the witch be more or less feared if hse turned people into newts?

  10. Thanks Shamus! I like the bottom right comment.

    Ben

  11. Guus says:

If the newts could get better, no. And please, stop referring to Monty Python? It’s soooo 20th century-ish.

  12. RichVR says:

Dang, Guus, nobody expected the Spanish Inquisition!

  13. Dane says:

Funny stuff. I recall seeing something similar in-game:

    Forum Wall Grafitti

I especially like Francis saying “Anybody got a marker?” Totally in character for him.

  14. Telas says:

Add my voice to the chorus calling for a “Tap a cold one” t-shirts!

  15. Yar Kramer says:

Heh, cute. And yeah, Monty Python is getting a little bit old. While we’re on the subject of Witches, though, I’ve become rather good at, ah, “coronations” … I’m even halfway-decent at one-shotting (or at least two-shotting) Witches on Normal with the regular shotgun … though I still play more or less strictly on Easy.

Shamus: Do you really feel less-bad about friendly fire incidents when you think about this particular “what if it was like this”, Considering you’ve been taking pains to play with players who, pointedly, wouldn’t behave like that at all?

  16. Zaghadka says:

OMFG! You really do read all the comments here!

    I’m touched. ;)

  17. neminem says:

Yup. “Tap a cold one” is pretty much brilliance, I have to agree. That’s a keeper.

  18. Allan says:

You’re only calling Monty Python old because you didn’t think of it first.

  19. Yar Kramer says:

No, other people thought of the content of Monty Python four decades ago. :P

  20. Neil says:

What one of the previous guys said was right! If ‘Zombie Booty: Tap a cold one’ isn’t a shirt yet, you have GOLD on your hands Shamus and are a CRIMINAL if you don’t not jump on the opportunity! That is money in the freaking bank right there.

  21. Sean Riley says:

What gets me is that so far nobody has picked up on his wonderfully understated Night of the Living Dead reference. :)

  22. RTBones says:

Hilarious! Monty Python getting old? Never! LOL!

Interestingly enough (and on a mostly related but not really sidenote) finally bought the game. Figured my machine wouldnt be able to handle it, given that I am at the bottom of the required spec list for the game. Turns out it worked fine, with the settings set low enough (new machine is in the works, which is why I bought it anyway). Anyhow, as I was figuring out the game, I recalled this thread and actually found myself paying attention to all the scribblings on the walls. Go figure.
Oh, and the game is a blast. :)

    “Tap a cold one….”
