My Mom is a huge fan of musicals, and this is one of her favorites. I think I’ll get her the remastered edition when it comes out.

Hahaha. That’s awesome. I’ll have to get that for my mum as well. The umbrella-saber sold me.

  2. Davesnot says:

What a glorious clip.. it’s zappin’ again! I wondered why the original had all the lasers cut from it.. I didn’t know about the budget troubles.

  3. Avaz says:

That’s really freakin’ funny and clever. Kudos to whoever thought this up. :D

  4. Paul Tomblin says:

    The rain shoots first!

  5. MOM says:

I’m so pleased to see George tackle something that will endure instead of his usual forgetable and forgotten flix.
I know this one brought a tear to my eyes.

  6. Zee says:

George Lucas would be happy. I did cry at that.

  7. Mari says:

What a wonderful thought. I can introduce my kids to “Singin’ in the Rain” as Gene intended it without tainting them with inferior versions that I was exposed to. *sniffles a little*

  8. Sartorius says:

Useless movie trivia: The movie which Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds are making in Singin’ in the Rain is called The Dueling Cavalier.

In one scene inThree Amigos!, the Amigos are breaking into their former film studio to steal their costumes. Lucky Day stands on top of the studio wall beside a prominent billboard advertising “The Dueling Cavalier” starring “Miss Reynolds”.

  9. Jim says:

Where are the dewback lizards and the scene where Cosmo shoots first? Lucas is totally holding out on us. You just know this means he’ll release another definitive remastering in 5 years with all the stuff we really want.

  10. Jessie says:

Man, those are some small TIE fighters.

  11. Prattor says:

I’m not sure how to take this. On one hand, parts of it look like it’s real. On the other hand, George Lucas is flaunting Willow and Singing in the Rain features blaster fire.

I am deeply confounded by this fake. Well done.

  12. M says:

I don’t know about this “Star Wars” thing, but I did love Willow…guess I’ll give this a watch. ^_^

  13. Arson55 says:

    …how very random.

  14. JB says:

    Indeed….very random….

But worth a hilarious laugh :D

  15. Marmot says:

Until today I didn’t realize what a gem this would be. Incredible! The TIE fighters were so cute…. :)

  16. Me says:

Very good! But an opportunity missed – surely the towering man in black at the end should have been Darth Vader :-D

  17. Nixorbo says:

Started slow, but man oh man what a climax.

  18. Nixorbo says:

Also, what that reminded me of:

Tallest Red: See? I told you they’d like the lasers.
Tallest Purple: Everything is lasers with you. I’m telling you smoke machines are what the people really (gets hit in the eyes with a laser) Argh!
    Crowd: ::Roars::
    Red: See?

I still think the ne-o production company with David Elsewhere dancing made the best “remake” of singing in the rain. Just check it out – http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7653924879522661423

Actually that company (ne-o) made a couple awesome videos. Check out Apollo Pony – “late at night” for another brilliant dance video.
