Silent Hill 2 Plot Analysis
A long-form analysis on one of the greatest horror games ever made.
D&D Campaign
WAY back in 2005, I wrote about a D&D campaign I was running. The campaign is still there, in the bottom-most strata of the archives.
Megatextures
A video discussing Megatexture technology. Why we needed it, what it was supposed to do, and why it maybe didn't totally work.
Pixel City Dev Blog
An attempt to make a good looking cityscape with nothing but simple tricks and a few rectangles of light.
Games and the Fear of Death
Why killing you might be the least scary thing a game can do.
I couldn’t even watch the whole thing. It made my ears bleed
Have you encountered Brad Paisley’s “Online”?

Cletus was always a bit annoying…
yeah, i thought it was shit.
I think this entertains me far more than it should. *grins* It just cracks me up.
If you want to hear a song that really rips rednecks apart, check out the song “Six Guys, Ten Teeth” by Paul and Storm, at http://www.paulandstorm.com. Click on “Songs” and scroll down until you get to the “Opening Band” album.
That’s a riot. Thanks for the warning on the country music, I would have just shut it off if I hadn’t had the warning.
Sadly, I get students in who:
A. Talk like that.
B. Have less knowledge of the computer.
C. Are usually trying to fight a drug charge by looking up legal info.
D. Openly admit “this new fangled technology dun wurk gud fer me.”
If you selected
E: all of the above
you’d be right.
Southern GA; Where hick and tech are like oil and water.
(The above is intended as a joke. There are plenty of nice southern GA folks who are highly adept at computer tech. I just never see them. Ever.)
A
Next time more Buck and less Cledus, please. ;)
And I loved the Hee-Haw reference at the end.
I know I shouldn’t have enjoyed that…
But I did. >_
Sadly, as Aaron stated, the fictionalized redneck character in the video actually had greater computer skills than most of the folks I run into here in Wyoming.
In particular I have found that individuals in the the 40-60 age group are extremely hostile towards technology of any kind, computers included. They have to use one (or at least think they do), but they hate the experience and hate the computer. You can’t do anything for this group; you can’t train them, and you can’t get them to quit doing whatever they were doing wrong because it *can’t* be their fault! Oh no, it has to be the computer! *rolls eyes*
Gotta check this one out… I remember following it when it was new (sadly), but man it cracked me up. My friends and I still refer to JD8 fondly. Well, it doesn’t come across as fond when we use it to describe someone…

I don’t get it. There are plenty of Southerners on the Internet and poor people, in general, have less access to technology … I’m trying to see the point but I can’t.
The first redneck on the intarwebs…and he uses the access to wage war against his ex-wife? How very strange. I would have thought his first priority would be searching for Elvis sightings.
And all the intarwebs cried out in pain.
>_>
Saaaahuhaaalute!
The video’s about 10 years old.
Brad’s is better. And *he* can sing!
that Paul and Storm site is rather exhaustive, and I laughed so hard that no operation was required to lower my num organs!!
Yeah, the Brad Paisley video is much funnier.
