    Hey, :)

    Heh! Priceless!

I recall a ShadowRun session where we took a while to come up with a plan of action. When we were finally done, we turned to the GM and he had fallen asleep on a couch. We failed to wake him…

    Eery…

    Cheers,
    J.

  2. Alison says:

I was directed to your adaptation of LotR by a friend. Hilarious!

  3. Orcbane says:

I played a star wars campaign in the DM’s backyard. The game went into the AM’s and the DM was the only one that wanted to continue. The other 3 players and I all wanted to goto sleep, but he insisted that it would soon be over, we just needed to wrap up the next scene.

That was the last session of that game. For some reason, no one wanted to go to his house to play anymore, and he refused to do it anywhere else… hmmmmm.

  4. Carl says:

Thanks for doing these posts. They’re wonderful. I’ve laughed until I cried.

  5. Steve R says:

I’ve played many Vampire sessions late into the night, with the GM snoring away in the background, we only woke him up when we needed his input!

  6. Gary's Friend Jim says:

I, too, laughed so hard there were tears. I should be doing laundry, but instead I’m reading this stuff and just laughing myself silly. Very funny stuff, and right on the mark.

  7. Connie says:

I had a friend who ALWAYS fell asleep during our Star Wars game (WEG, not WOTC). It was a blessing because when she -was- awake she seemed to revel in being antagonistic and screwing over our party. She has a record for Total Party Kills…

Anyhow, one game where we were sick of it, we wanted to put a tracking device into her character so we could know where she was and how she was screwing us over THIS week. She fell asleep on the couch and the GM said if we were able to finish the scene before she woke up, we would have successfully pulled off the insertion of the chip without her character waking up.

Mission: Successful. She never knew how we were able to get there before she could do too much damage.

    Oy.

Be prepared for more readers. Someone linked to this from Wil Wheaton’s latest Geek In Review column. This is my new favorite webcomic. Hilarious … now, to show it to my old gaming group.

    ;-)

  9. Stephen says:

I’m here ‘cos of the link from Geek in Review. Love DM of the Rings. Also just read the campaign blog in one sitting – What happened next????

    1. Darkstarr says:

Am I the only one here now having visions of Wesley Crusher sneaking off to the holodeck to play D&D whenever Picard & Riker aren’t looking? -_^

  10. Skeeve the Impossible says:

Damn it shamus tell them what happened to our characters

  11. Thea says:

This was linked from theonering.net a couple weeks ago — I’ve been LOL’ing at your brilliance so figured I should post a quick note to say thanks!

I haven’t even played D&D in decades (and didn’t play much even then) but remember just enough to know what you’re talking about. Great choice of screencaps!

Sure hope you have time to do more of these. Happy Thanksgiving!

  12. Anthony says:

I have to be careful I don’t wak eup the house with my laughing. Brilliant!

  13. Teloric says:

Hilarious. This just made my “must read” list.

  14. Rusty Badger says:

Another reader courtesy of Wil Wheaton…awesome thread! Am exploring the rest of the site as well!

  15. Laurie says:

wow, these are great! i’m so glad I found them!

  16. Parable says:

Hey people. Just found this earlier today using the StumbleUpon tool for Firefox. Read through all of them and have to say that this series is hilarious. i used to rp with friends a lot but haven’t had the chance to since i finished college about two years ago. The jokes definately bring back some memories. Keep up the good work. Can’t wait for the next one.

  17. Krad Vlees says:

Reader Courtesy of Stumbleupon ( http://www.stumbleupon.com ) Keep it up. Reminds me of way to many sessions over the last 25 years……
    Very well Spoofed…..
I’ll definitely be passing this site along..

  18. Wow. You know, my fave webcomic ( dieselweeties.com ) got a Cease & Desist order from Lucasfilm, but I guess since you’re not making T shirts with LOTR thingy on them you should be OK. I sure hope so, I’d gladly print this stuff on HQ paper to have it around to show. What are your thoughts on that, Mr. Pirate/Author?

  19. JD says:

A good rule to have when you stay up late playing D&D: Plenty of rest.

  20. astat says:

where did you get the sleeping gimli frame? is it from the actual movie?!

  21. Nickerbockers says:

Our sessions run on friday nights and always finish no earlier than about 1:30am… which isn’t a problem, except for the fact that myself and two others are up every thursday until 3am playing xbox together…. so while I’ve never had a player fall asleep on me, there is a gradual descent into fatigue-induced ridiculousness which occurs :D

Btw, I know I’ve discovered this far later than most, but oim loving it! A mate got me onto darths and droids and now im here :D grats on the fantastic work!

  22. ERROR says:

“What? My turn? I’ll take a ten.”
    Heh-heh.

  23. Serenitybane says:

Lmao! This was spectacular!! I love the frames you chose! Excellent, please keep this up!

  24. Mikayla says:

These webcomics are hilarious! I’ve spent at least three hours reading them! IN ONE NIGHT! It’s been a while since I’ve played D&D but I thought it was really fun when we did play it.

Your adaption of LotR is really funny and I love it!
