Hey! Who are you callin’ “left brain”?

You Are 80% Left Brained, 20% Right Brained

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.
Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.
If you’re left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.
Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.
Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.
If you’re right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.
Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

Oh. That would be me. Compare and contrast these results with those of my wife.

It’s a wonder we get along so well. Maybe opposites attract? Maybe between the two of us we add up to a whole brain.

That’s what I always figured. The Lord knew we needed a whole brain so He brought us together. No wonder we can’t argue properly. :)

  2. MOM says:

    70 left and always right

  3. BeckoningChasm says:

    %100 Scatter Brained.

I knew it would ask the one question I can never answer. “Do you think in words or pictures?” Damn it, I think in BOTH, equally.

  4. Shamus says:

I didn’t know what to do with that one either. Most ideas or concepts require one or the other. I certainly can’t think about 3d rendering concepts in words. I can’t think about email in pictures. Recalling a conversation according to what everyone looked like is pointless: You need to recall what was said!

This has more to do with what you do during the day than how you think. That’s only useful if you’re in a line of work suited to your particular makeup.

Man, I’m starting to doubt the scientific veracity of these ten-question internet tests…

  5. MOM says:

I think in words but to really finish my thought I have to write it down so I can see it. Gosh, I hope I answered that correctly.

  6. BeckoningChasm says:

My thoughts melt continuously from words to images to sounds, including images of words and sounds of words. It’s a wonder I get any work done. I guess if forced at gunpoint, “images” might just edge out words since I paint more than I write. But in the midst of a particular creative endeavor, that is always changing.

I just wish these quizes would include a “both” button. Or a “neither”–that’s an interesting thought.

  7. BeckoningChasm says:

I wonder how people blind from birth would answer the question?

  8. MikeSSJ says:

    O_O

It appears I’m 55 left and 45 right. Thats….a lot more balanced than I had expected.

  9. AliceSacco says:

50% right brained and 50% left brained, and i think both in words and pictures.

  10. shariane says:

i’m both right and left brained..which is totally a rare combination which makes me creative and flexible thinker!!

  11. Steve says:

I’d say I’m more left brained I love reading and quiet. Plus I’m more of a dog person…But I like philosophy and day dreaming and AW GOD DAMNIT. Most people are both :(. Glad I suck at art heheheh.
