Yay Girl Genius! Bonus points for the Myth Inc nod in her Supergroup affiliation. If her title could somehow refer to some Sci-Fi she’d be a nerd trifecta!

This person stuck pretty close to the character concept, using only gadget-based powers. That’s pretty admirable in this game, considering how wildly out of balance the powers are.

You can’t be the mayor. You have no pants.

I like how this guy looks like a Dr. Kleiner + Herb Tarlec robot. The name makes for a pretty good joke. “Yeah. We’ll put a jacket and glasses on him. Nobody will notice he’s a robot.”

Man, the stupid and ugly character concepts some people come up with…

Oh wait. He’s one of the central characters of the setting.

Nevermind then.

    That Agatha is just asking for an Othar Tryggvassen (Gentleman Adventurer!) companion.

  2. Dr. Big says:

    The Ravenspeaker had one of the most ineptly written biographies I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading.

  3. Ravens Cry says:

    Incognito Bot, at least from this angle, looks like an older Isaac Asimov.

  4. Randy Johnson says:

    Raven falls in the same category as Kinetic as one of the heroes you have to seriously doubt has any powers.

  5. Rutskarn says:

    Incognito Bot is my new favorite thing for today.

    Also: WKRP reference. Nice.

  6. Nyaz says:

    So… what is bird-mans superpower? Flapping his wings and going “SQUAWK!”?

    EDIT: Okay… wow… I just read his biography. Wow. That was utter crap. Someone seems to have been having a really bad day while writing that. Yuck.

    I want to move to Awesometown.

  8. krellen says:

    I suspect Awesometown is probably deviously named, like Iceland (which is very green) and Greenland (which is coated in ice). It’s actually really lame.

  9. Taellosse says:

    @Vyolynce #1: You mean nemesis! Doesn’t this game let you create your own nemesis? Othar should totally be Agatha’s nemesis. Especially since The Other appears, thus far, to be this kind of otherworldly, non-corporeal spirit thing. Its nature isn’t yet properly defined. Or the Baron, I suppose. But Othar as the nemesis would be way funnier.

  10. Pffh says:

    @Krellen
    Iceland is mostly brown and gray. I wish it was mostly green but at least modern shooters make me think of home which I guess is a good thing.

  11. krellen says:

    @Pffh:
    It was probably a lot greener back when it was named, before the sheep got at it.

    I’m having a lot of fun in CO and I have Shamus to thank for it, I got into the game because of these snippets he shows here :-)

    I *try* to keep my character to a theme, even have a backstory for her and how she progressed so far, although it’s not written down anywhere. Anyway, if you see a 40-ft woman with bat wings and horns hanging around in renaissance center, steelhead base or project greenskin say hi! (and no, the 40-ft thing I didn’t bother to find a reason for, since I only do it for fun).

    Now I need to remember to send another request to shamus to add me to the supergroup. Haven’t really played groups much so far (and I’m well over the halfway mark in levels already)

  13. Rolaran says:

    Yeah, it seems like everything about Ravenspeaker is just ludicrous. I’m surprised nobody has mentioned his voice acting yet. The guy is the biggest ham I’ve heard in the game so far, and that’s an accomplishment. He out-hams Defender, he out-hams Ironclad, he even out-hams Adam-West-style Foxbat!

    As for the heroes, the Girl Genius reference makes me very happy. Now we need to get her in a duel with the one I saw the other day who was a perfect duplicate of Alice Margatroid from Touhou Project.

  14. Blake says:

    Welcome back to Awesometown, exploding high-5! http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=eh2ld_Vt_eQ

  15. Solid Jake says:

    Ah, now that’s the kind of rip-off I respect and strive for: nailing the look, using proper powers, and not making someone a million other people already thought of (I’m looking at YOU, Deadpools).

  16. Alex says:

    {crank}
    Dammit, “Nevermind” is an album title. The expression in English is “never mind”. Two words.
    {/crank}

  17. Dev Null says:

    Incognito Bot, at least from this angle, looks like an older Isaac Asimov.

    Asimov had a robotic leg? Damn those author photo headshots; I never knew! Doesn’t surprise me though – was the leg independently sentient?

  18. Legendary Bard says:

    So moving to Awesometown.

  19. J Greely says:

    I think the worst thing about Ravenspeaker is the fact that they went to the trouble to make his hideous costume pieces more available for player costumes than just about anything else. I think those stupid hip pads are the only piece that’s available for every type of bottom-half, both male and female.

    Gadgeteering is actually one of the better sets, especially if you mix and match a little.

    Try sonic device + chainsaw some day.
