Ugh. Monday morning. I’m not a fan. Bad things happen on Monday mornings. For example, this:

Well, the week can only get better from here, right?
(“Thanks” to Leslee for the link.)
Control
A wild game filled with wild ideas that features fun puzzles and mind-blowing environments. It has a great atmosphere, and one REALLY annoying flaw with its gameplay.
The Best of 2015
My picks for what was important, awesome, or worth talking about in 2015.
Project Octant
A programming project where I set out to make a Minecraft-style world so I can experiment with Octree data.
Civilization VI
I'm a very casual fan of the series, but I gave Civilization VI a look to see what was up with this nuclear war simulator.
The Witch Watch
My first REAL published book, about a guy who comes back from the dead due to a misunderstanding.
First. And did you have to? ;-)
This video is not available in your country due to copyright restrictions.
I’m not sure if I should be relieved or furious about this.
Edit: Funny thing is, I was able to see the exact same video via video.google.com. Seems to work to other “restricted” videos too..
And to the video: that was interesting. Do the songs really match so perfectly or was Nirvana edited in the background?
Quite possibly the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen.
That was cruel. I was hoping this would be a good day.
If anything, I’d expect the vocal track was edited to make the timing work.
So, uh, would this be considered a GrungeRoll?
My brother already used this remix for evil.
That was a foul, foul way to start a Monday. Ugh.
Thank you, now I have to buy a new computer in case the corruption has spread.
Huh. Someone took two music videos, one from my childhood and one from my teenage years, and combined the best aspects of them. I’m in the “Actually, that was COMPLETELY AWESOME!” camp.
Never mind the fact that “rickrolls” are overused, and Teen Spirit is overplayed. Listen past that and feel the awesomeness of combining the poetic and clearly pronounced lyrics of Rick Astley with the awesome rock sound of Nirvana.
It’s funny and well done. Frankly, this made my day.
I actually used this video as my facebook status just three days ago, with the claim that it’s two great things that go great together, like Steak & Potatoes, Penn & Teller, or Dungeons & Dragons.
Regardless, I watched it again here. Because it’s that awesome.
It is wrong of me to admit that I actually LIKE this mash-up of these two songs?
It’s awfully catchy.
And you’re “welcome”, Shamus.
Leslee
MP3 plz
Absolute GENIUS!
I’d better get practicing – I cannot WAIT to Rickroll everyone next time I’m at karaoke. :)
This was… actually pretty good! I love it.
Cthulhu f’freakin’taghn.
I’m sorry, but I think this is far more awesome…
(You might need to be Canadian to get this?)

grrr
“I'm in the “Actually, that was COMPLETELY AWESOME!” camp.”
Yeah, same here.
The songs just go too well together. I actually discovered this a few days ago on a different forum, and have been listening to it almost non-stop since.
“Never gonna tell a lie, and hurt you…”
Oddly enough, saw this the other day.
My thoughts:
1) Somebody had WAAAYY too much time on their hands to put this together.
2) As much as I want to scream, “NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!” the mix is actually rather well done.
Hehehehe, Rick-Rocked!
I am amused.
I thought it was well worth my time and amusement.
Heh, yeah, I found it a few days ago and I’m in the “awesome” camp too.
The lyric line and the music line go…surprisingly well together. Maybe it helps that I’m not too familiar with either song (never heard of “Teen Spirit”, and only experience with “Never Gonna Give You Up” is with secondhand discussions of rickrolling).
That was both Utterly Awesome and a complete abomination.
But regardless of what I think of the combination, I have to give a lot of credit for the high quality mix. The sepia toned “Never Gonna Give You Up” clips are a nice touch.
I’m beginning to hate this “not available in you country” crap.
I have to go with “Awesome”. It probably helps that I have never actually been rickrolled. (I have watched a few seconds of rickroll footage, but always knew in advance what I was getting into.)
This…this is…pure awesome win.
This is like liquid awesome, had it been carefully boiled and refined to leave only the purest of awesome, which was then worked into solution with the finest nectar by beautiful alabaster maidens of the Orient.
It’s good. So good.
I… I think I want an mp3 of this… ^^;; I never thought I’d see the day I’d headbang to Rick Astley music.
I’m still trying to make up my mind what I think, but it did make me laugh. Well done at the very least.
Can I have a transcript please? My country is not awesome enough it appears… ;)
Copyright restrictions? So they haven’t been violated by mixing these two songs together already? O.o
I’m in the “completely awesome” camp.
Now if you want DISTURBING, here’s a good one: Why is the pretty lady singing tenor?
I liked it. Felt very dark and worked like a nice… dark harmony… ummm… yeah…
Pretty cool, I think.
I take no credit for this in any way, but here’s the mp3:

That link is good for 7 days or 100 downloads. Somebody can re-host it if they want.
I find this to be pretty much awesome too. Very strange and disturbing, but awesome nontheless.
I can’t be the only one who thinks this must be the herald of a coming apocalypse can I?
Awesome way to end the world at least.
HeadHunter, that would be mean!
If you can actually pull it off, I’d pay to see a video of your audience :D
I have mixed feelings about this: It sounds really well and I admire the talent behind the mash-up, but something feels very wrong with it… don’t know exactly what. Thanks for the heads-up, Shamus.
Was that awesome or horrible? I’m not too sure personally..
Mixing Rickrolling with something else seems to have turned into a meme of its own. Probably the strangest one I’ve ever discovered: the Paintroll. Anyone here remember Mario Paint?
“Rick-rocked”
Clever.
I actually really like this version :)
For the Win, and the Glory, Forever and Ever, A Win.
Weirdly, the frist time I was rickrolled, I did not like the song.
It quickly grew on me, until I like the thing, and always “fall” for rickrolls. I don’t “fall” for them, I just feel like listening to the song at that moment :P
So cool…
Rick just looks so happy dancing to that awesome riff.
That’s one of the best-done mashup abominations I’ve seen. My favorite is still one by PDQ Bach (I think) that mixed together Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with Stephen Foster’s “Camptown Races”. Can’t find it on Youtube though.
There’s a whole album of this, although I think this song is the best on it.
This is now blocked :(
