  1. GreyDuck says:

    “The Safety Manse”

You’re going to the special heck for that pun, sir.

  2. Deoxy says:

The escapist seems to be down – I can’t get there, anyway. And I tried one of your older comic links just to be sure it wasn’t a bad link.

    :-(

  3. Henebry says:

Worked for me, though I got there directly, from the Stolen Pixels RSS feed.

(Yes, I subscribe to its feed, as well as to the 20 Sided feed. Double notifications for the win!)

  4. Luke Maciak says:

It’s down for me too. :( It doesn’t take me there even if I click the banners or type in the URL manually.

  5. Veloxyll says:

Clearly the comic was so dirty that it broke the site

  6. scarbunny says:

Yep sites been down all day.

I did get a PM yesterday about them upgrading the servers, I guess they broke something.

  7. Sesoron says:

Fantastic, I’m not the only one.

  8. Ludo says:

Congratulations Shamus, you broke the internet :p

  9. MintSkittle says:

The Escapist seems to be working now.

  10. Rob says:

Still broken for me at least.

  11. Lupis42 says:

I’m unable to resolve http://www.escapistmagazine.com. Does anyone have an IP for the escapist cached?

EDIT: I spelled it correctly in nslookup.

  12. JT says:

I can resolve it now, yay!

  13. Enrique says:

Yeah I’m not able to get there either and haven’t been most of the morning. Which makes me very sad, as I’ve been looking forward to the next comic. Damned Internet hamsters getting out of their wheels.

  14. Ludo says:

Seems like a dns thing, it works for me now.

  15. Viktor says:

Not working for me, either through your link or the ad banners.

  16. wumpus says:

And here I was sure the punchline was going to have to do with Louis having been a real estate agent before the apocalypse…

  17. Lupis42 says:

EDIT: Kloth has provided me with the IP, but I get nothing from them except an “Oops” message.

  18. perry says:

awww. escapist still down for me. trying for a few hours now.

  19. perry says:

now up, but VERY slow (20-30 seconds) to resolve.

  20. Moridin says:

I tried this afternoon and now again. Still not working.

  21. John Lopez says:

I ran a dnsstuff.com report and the name servers for the escapistmagazine.com domain are offline.

Hopefully a technical glitch that will be corrected soon, although the fact that they only show a single name server (209.34.224.91) helps explain the failure (normally there are 2 to 4 name servers set to respond to a domain for this reason).

  22. Rutskarn says:

    “Safety Manse”.

That might just be the best thing I’ve heard this week.

  23. Eldiran says:

“Fort Awesome” is what I named my fortress in Suikoden.

  24. Broc says:

Any idea when you’ll use another game for stolen pixels?

I must admit that I have no interest in Left 4 Dead and while I have found this series to be entertaining, it is always much more funny when you use a game I have played.

Of course this is an honest question, not a direct request ; )

  25. Badger says:

In other news, you made BoingBoing. Hurrah!

  26. Ericc says:

Funny, funny, funny stuff. I like this a hell of a lot. Your L4D strips mine comedy gold…through the outhouse.

On another note, your Pixel City is now on Kotaku.
