Everyone else is doing it!

Just about everyone knows that Steven Den Beste used to blog a lot about politics, but has since quit and started blogging about Anime.

I used to run this pseudohumorous political satire site, but gave it up and now run the goofy blog you are currently reading.

Now I learn that the excellent haibane.info is run by Aziz Poonawalla, and it looks like Dean Esmay has joined him.

What’s with all the political bloggers going geek? What’s next?

Maybe Glenn Reynolds will give up on his regular blog and start a Najica Blitz Tactics-themed site: InstaPanties.com

As if he needs any more readers.

  1. well, anime and sci fi are less frustrating than politics, for one thing :)

It’s more fun arguing about sin-bound Haibane than it is about immigration policy and tax cuts…

  2. And you don’t get as much hate mail. (Though you do get some.)

  3. Shamus says:

What if some other bloggers went Geek:

    Kawaii Fury

    Gundam Wing News

    Daily Kosplay

    Chibi Green Footballs

Kim Du Toit… No. No, I can’t even imagine that one.

  4. The title of Kim’s anime blog is obvious: “Girls with Guns”.

  5. What if anime characters went political?

    Reki: libertarian

    Sugar: lefty moonbat

The Washii: xenophobic Republican (obsessed with walls…)

I wasn’t even going to comment on this article until my father walked in while i was reading it.
Due to the “erotic” photo that went alongside, he gave me that “what are you donig on the internet look” thus insinuating that i am some sort of pervert who enjoys the female form and all the goodies that go along with it

NOTE: In his defense I am kind of a pervert, but not as big a pervert as our next door nieghbor

(Note to other readers, for context I should mention that the above comment from Dan is from one of my brothers.)

Next time this happens, tell him: “Don’t worry dad. I’m not even looking at the picture. In fact, I don’t find women attractive at all.”

I promise, the next time he catches you looking at girls on the internet he’ll be relieved.

  8. Fan Service is one of the five essential food groups.

  9. Eric says:

Dan already fines the female form unpleasant, I mean can’t you tell my his mannerisms.

  10. Eric says:

oh and when are you going to finish posting the sessions, you mexican jew lizard!!!

  11. Shamus says:

Context is of the utmost importance when employing those sorts of remarks.

  12. Eric says:

True but ya know i dont care i’ll say anything for attention. nobody loves me!:( ………….. i don’t know anymore stupid symbols, except maybe…. .|..

  13. Shamus says:

As for when I’ll post the rest of the LAST campaign, that sort of depends. We’re already looking at creating the NEXT campaign. Time, being of finite supply, and my lazyness, being not nearly so limited, conspire to impair my ability to, you know, get stuff done.

  14. Eric says:

oh, and when is there super book coming out.

  15. Eric says:

    stop talking in riddles!

  16. Eric says:

I was reading the sessions in the archive, and I have to say they are totally awesome. Reading them is almost a hell of a lot better then playing them(a lot less frustrating). i do think you should have put some of the stuff that was recorded up. aw, man good times.

  17. someone run a poll – fan service vs geek service?

  18. Shamus says:

    fan service vs geek service?

Wait. That’s like saying Jets vs. Airplanes…

    :)

  19. heh – no what I meant was more like my shinkansen (bullet train) video – the two things evoke similar fascinations in the otaku/geek mind, but one if more Father-walking-into-the-room-approved :)

  20. Eric says:

can someone explain to me the facisination the japanese have with this cartoon sex thing. Hey to each his own, im not judging or anything, i just curious as to why it’s so popular over there.

  21. Eric, if you don’t get it, I can’t explain it to you.

  22. Eric says:

welli have a hunch, perhaps it has something to do with the fact that most of the women in japan aren’t adequate in certain parts of the female anatomy. but like the man said who cares as long as they keep shows like FMA, CB, and also my personal favorite robotech!!

  23. MOM says:

    SHAMUS!
Can’t you do something about the low types that have begun commenting on your blog? And campaign has a g in it ( obviously)
