Stolen Pixels #75: Interview With the RAM Pyre

I knew that making jokes about the Xbox bricking itself would likely attract flames. So I decided to make the title of the comic such an offensively horrible and inexcusable pun that the resulting outrage would head off any bickering over people’s chosen self-esteem containers console platforms.

Also, Travis makes peace with the PS3 users after enraging them by repeating the unflattering things Sony executives have already admitted. I mean, I guess he makes peace with them. Honestly I don’t know what gets people so riled up in the first place, so maybe this won’t do any good.

“The xbox allows you, the gamer, to PAY Microsoft for the privilege of belonging to a defective culture built around ignorance, homophobia, and illiteracy.”

You can also get to pay Microsoft to use your own bandwidth to host a Halo 2 Vista server!

Its teh deel of teh centry, fags!

  2. Angie says:

LOL! Hey, if you’re going to get one gang of immature gamers mad at you, why not two? :D

    Angie

  3. JB says:

You know you’re still not completely grown up when you actually feel content about seeing the Xbox burn like that. :D

  4. Adam Greenbrier says:

I like Travis’s shirt. Is that a design of your own, or is it for sale somewhere?

  5. LintMan says:

I didn’t quite get the T-shirt. It looks like a power button… “Off you, buddy” Supposed to sound like “FU”?

    1. Shamus says:

Lint man: That particular arrangement of lights on the Xbox power button is the dreaded Red Ring of death. It means your console is screwed.

  6. Julian says:

    RROD YOU BUDDY
    I want that shirt.

  7. LintMan says:

Ah, I didn’t know that’s what the RROD looks like!

Also, I just went back and read that article you linked in your PS3 comic about Sony’s “intentionally difficult to program the PS3” remarks. Did anyone else get a This Is Spinal Tap flashback: “But ours go to 11….”

  8. Dave says:

of course, Lint… why don’t you just make 10 louder..

Shamus.. what about the Wii.. :D

  9. Daemian Lucifer says:

    “what about the Wii..”

Nah,that would be like taking candy from a baby.

And I doubt hed do PC as well, since that would be like taking heart pills from a 100+ year olds.

  10. Tim says:

I want to pay you for the privilege of wearing that shirt.

  11. Mark says:

Travis Taylor reminds me a little bit of Scott Sharkey.

  12. Cuthalion says:

I want to pay you for the privilege of wearing that shirt.

Lol. If I weren’t so cheap, I’d say the same. Well, that and I don’t want anybody to take it wrong. (I’m not exactly a cusser, which is probably what people would assume if they didn’t get the joke. Or even if they did, really…)

  13. Ranneko says:

@Simon Fortunately they haven’t tried to get people to pay for the incredibly half-arsed Games for Windows Live for a fair while now.

  14. Patrick the Malcontent says:

Tell me you weren’t imagining Val Kilmer in Tombstone when you wrote the last line.

    1. Shamus says:

Pat: A joke only you and I can enjoy, it seems.
